Nebraska vs. Rutgers Highlights | CFB on FOX

The Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 14-13 and notched their first back-to-back Big Ten wins since 2018. Rutgers started out strong scoring 13 unanswered points in the first half. But Nebraska would answer. Cornhuskers' QB Casey Thompson had a big game, throwing for 232 yards and two touchdowns, while Trey Palmer had a highlight reel, 27-yard touchdown catch that gave Nebraska a second-half lead they would never give up.

They are still making lots of mistakes, so it’s not great football. The difference is they are finding a way to win games, which is huge! That is leadership & coaching and these players are bought in. I predict they win a couple more and surprise a team they are not “supposed” to beat, like Minnesota or Iowa or Purdue. Getting bowl eligible would be an incredible turnaround and may earn Mickey Joseph the Head Coaching job.

I am very happy with the win, but I also agree with you. Rutgers had several chances to put this game almost out of reach in the first half. They have to be kicking themselves, as they could have been ahead 21 or perhaps 24 points.

The flag that happened at 4:12 left in the game really sealed it. That was the best time management I’ve ever seen from Nebraska to move 3 yards after that.

The penalty was the right call, and I was glad it helped Nebraska. I would have liked it better if Nebraska had gotten the first down on their own, but a win is a win and i am very pleased.

I was impressed with the heads-heads up play of taking a knee on the last interception, there was no reason to try to advance the ball and risk a fumble.

Poor Rutgers, they only have 2 offensive plays, and a coach that’s utterly lost. I thought they were going to play the Waterboy at quarterback after a while. Worst coaching job I’ve ever seen. 😢

Rutgers outplayed the Huskers in the first half, no question about that, but couldn't find a way to nail the lid down. Huskers found some intensity at halftime and played decent football in the second half. Don't be afraid to give credit to the winner for a win, even if it was an ugly win. Besides, I lost count of how many games the Huskers have found a way to loose over the last 4 years. Nice to spread the misery around a bit!

I went to the game (Rooting for Rutgers), and that’s why Rutgers lost this game. That OPI on Rutgers was one of the dumbest ref calls and would have resulted in at least 3 points for Rutgers, and guess how much Nebraska won by, 1. So basically you could argue that call costed us the game. And I think there were a few bad calls the refs made as well but that’s the biggest.

Rutgers helped Nebraska seal the win by wasting their time outs near the end of the game, and also with the very stupid personal foul with about four minutes to play that gave NU a badly needed first down. But all things, considered, i am delighted with the win.

I work the games, usually by halftime people bolt to avoid traffic, also season ticket holders also count towards the sellout and if they no showed it still counts as a bought ticket
