Congratulations to Nebraska and especially to the Nebraska coaching staff and players for their big win at Iowa. 👍 As an Iowa fan, this was an extremely disappointing loss to say at the least. Nebraska deserved to win this game because they wanted it more and they outcoached the Iowa coaching staff and they were more motivated to win than Iowa was. It is high time for Iowa to get new blood in the program. This style of garbage football is very old.

I was watching this with family from Iowa and they starting gloating while NEB is self destructing in epic fashion for the millionth time. I finally was like “ya know years ago I understand hating on NEB, but at this point it’s just mean lol we’re the most beaten down program in the country.” They we’re like you know what, you’re right I’m sorry… NEB fans now are like a puppy that’s been abused, scared to even enjoy things going well just cowering in the corner wondering how long until more pain. If we’re up 24-0 vs a team with no offense and a backup QB it STILL feels like we have no chance.

No, Nebraska's defense won this one, by being in Iowa's QBs face all day long. Of course it didn't hurt that Iowa's defense couldn't keep up with Trey Palmer and Marcus Washington. 😊 But our defense harassed their QBs all day long.

Your defense gave up 24 points in a little more than a half. Yes, Nebraska's defense played well too, so it was a combination of Iowa's defense not being able to stop Nebraska, and your QBs sucking. But we knew your QBs were going to struggle. They're both bad.

So the reason it's a penalty on the punt and not the field goal is purely because the punt shield is a standing shields. Meaning not from a line stance. Launching over a line isn't illegal because there is less chance of injury. As we saw, launching over the punt shield has a high chance of being flipped or landing on ones head

All in all. Nebraska needs to recruit better in the trenches. I say it week in and week out. It's with out a doubt. No matter who the coach is, that will be a serious, serious necessity for any success. That is not all to blame. The player development is coming along but needs to be built upon to keep up with fellow big ten foes. There were players on the field that should have maybe got more game reps that stepped up and did their "job" which contributed to on field success in this game. Now I'm not a coach but there are only so many eyes and ears and experience that can shift a program in weeks time but and I say but because Nebraska is a but, I'm just kidding but comes with a but because it just needs to all come together. Things in Lincoln have seemed a little off balance for quite sometime and I mean front to back as a program. There have been quite a few black eyes along the way but once the stars aline, I honestly think Nebraska will rise like a Phoenix. They may not win championships every year but consistency and continuity will be a normal again.

As happy as I am about this victory I also wish to ask Trev to please not hire Matt Rhule and to hire Urban Meyer instead. I am not interested in 20 or infinite more years of hire and fire coaches every 3 years. Matter fact, if Trev hires Matt Rhule it'll get Trev fired since once Rhule starts to fail in 3 or 4 years Trev will be held responsible and it'll make Trev look like he doesn't know what he's doing. It has to be Urban Meyer to save everyone connected to the Nebraska program.
