Have you ever wondered about all of the genetic indicators that make you...YOU? Well in today's marketplace of home dna test kits you can successfully map your genome with a simple swab... Pretty amazing, right?
These kits are a tiny fraction of the cost of what major genomic database research has cost over the years.
Join us as we explore Dr. Brown's results and give you a walk through of the app.
👍 Thanks for watching! Please like, comment, & subscribe.

My biological died at age 36. She had Melanoma. My biological father died of a heart attack when he was 41. I was adopted by my father’s brother when I was nearly two years old. 12:46 I’m 66 so I’ve outlasted both my parents but I have cardiac stents and I get tested yearly for skin cancer. My father and mother would probably both be still alive if they were born in this time.

I just ordered mine and waiting I did 12andme and did ancestry waiting for the results when I was sharing with a friend she told me about nebula and how many times they test compared to how little the others do I have found valuable information however it’s time to go deeper I was hoping to see the mutation I have but now I know I’ll find out way more from nebula I feel I’m going to more answers to what I’m seeking Thanks for sharing makes me excited for mine

Super interesting! Please keep us updated with your findings and results. I was considering doing 23andMe but now after discovering Nebula, I am debating which one I would rather go for. The fact that you did 23andme already, would love to know how much they overlap and how accurate their findings are for ancestry and health report! Good luck!

This is a great informational video. I do have a an odd question that I’d like your opinion on. As you said, this is just starting and who knows where we’ll be in 10 yrs. with this genetic info and database. My question: With the advance in AI, and the warnings from scientists on the dangers involved, do you think it’s possible to be “singled out” (for whatever reason) by AI viewing someone’s gene sequence and the proclivities it signals?

The 100x can be used to make clinical decisions by a doctor. They wont for 30x from what I understand, since the risk is still high enough that the extra few hundred bucks which is almost nothing in the end of things lowers that risk so substantially. Otherwise, 30x is more than excellent! Imagine, this was 1-2 MILLION in 2007!! @@3darms

Hi, I’m someone who suffers from anxiety and the physical symptoms of anxiety. I particularly struggle with health anxiety. Something like this seems like a double edged sword for me. I am looking into this to benefit my body and try and move from a hypersensitive nervous system, however seeing high risk for certain diseases would surely trigger me 😂 Are these set in stone… like a self fulfilling prophecy? Or can we swerve these potential outcomes with lifestyle choices.
@johnmoore1495
@johnmoore1495 6 ай бұрын
No these are not at all set in stone. Genetic based healthcare is very much in its infancy. Remember how they used to stick metal rods in peoples brains to separate lobes to “fix” mental illness, yeah that’s basically where genetic healthcare is right now lol. I would not be surprised if most of the current information is wildly incorrect or misleading. There’s so many different variations and combinations that it’ll take decades if not centuries to accurately predict health outcomes. Don’t get me wrong there are some genes that are very much linked to certain illnesses. But usually it’s one or 2 genes that are very blatantly linked to said disease, not 36 genes that happen to be common among people with a disease like most of the results shown. Think of it like this, most genetic “health insights” are very much based on correlation, not causation. So personally I would tell you to stay away from it because you’ll likely just freak yourself out for no reason.

Hi my name is Jo, I am from Tasmania, Australia. I believe my family’s descendants are from my fathers side of the family is Aboriginal. I am on the fair complexion, like my mother however, my father goes in the sun he really goes the darkened brown n has facial features that looks more like our descendants Anoriginal. My mother is an Australian, again on the fair complexion. My parents n I have mix races in our bloodlines. We also have medical issues! Can this genetic sequence give not only my parents an I, answers to our history on all the above n more? Thank you for your time n understanding 🙏

I don't think there's a conspiracy, either. It just costs money. I'm trying to learn genealogy and genetics and have several DNA tests.
@earnestmedicine
@earnestmedicine Жыл бұрын
True, it's not a conspiracy. But there certainly is an association between public funding for research and then pharmaceuticals taking that to use for their own purposes. Many examples of this out there.

@shaunsteele6926
@shaunsteele6926 Жыл бұрын
not really... they advertise "deep ancestry" but this is misleading, since all they offer is your Y-DNA (if you're a male) and mtDNA haplogroups. This is useful for finding out who your direct line male/female ancestors were thousands of years back... but most people won't be too interested in that.

We're only scratching the surface of what's buried in our genomes. It's far greater than what we are capable of comprehending. Perhaps the machines will take a crack at it and decide if there's enough there to make advances. Problem is pharmaceuticals are already diving into genomes to patent sequences and come up with new drugs that they can pander to doctors and patients. Ugh.

Are the indicators really reliable ? Are they based on association (unreliable) or on a causal study. E.g. There are genes related to the ability to use (asian) sticks to eat. Of course this association is meaningless since the real factor in this ability is cultural. (hidden variable)

Unfortunately, even with the most expensive ultra-ultra-ultra-deep sequencing from Nebula Genomics, there were a TON of genes they didn't sequence and a TON MORE genes they give "insufficient sequencing depth" results on for me. I've also since been resequenced by a highly reputable tester (Invitae) that gave EXTREMELY different results for cancer predisposing syndrome, so I'm VERY disappointed that I wasted several thousand dollars on testing with Nebula. Voting this shill video for Nebula down. Lame!
