This was really great 😊. For me it’s not letting other people talk me into staying somewhere longer than I need to. Recently there were times where I knew it was time to leave a job, a church ⛪️, people etc and other people tried to talk me into staying because “that’s family” or “they’re counting on you” etc. I had to learn to follow my instincts not what other people said.

@Renee McGruder Appreciate your comment. I can very much relate. Other people (op) do not always know what is best for us, but God does! When we honor our instincts, our gut, or that witness/check in-our-spirits, we are wise because I have learned that is The Holy Spirit leading us. He is always right on. I also learned that I do not have to explain myself to op. Many times op have tried to pull info out of me in an attempt to manipulate me into doing what they want me to do. So I have learned the less said the better. It is my life and I will not give my power over to op anymore. Still learning to be wiser still, but I have come a long way from where I was and it feels good to honor my choices and follow my instincts. Blessings 🌈

Often other people have plans for us that serve them and they are disappointed when God has other plans for us. They may have thought God brought us into a situation for their benefit and then it turns out that season has ended and the Holy Spirit is moving us into another direction. Generally we cannot please very many people and also please God. We all have to trust God and focus on what He wants, not just what we want or what other people want. Our Heavenly Father knows best and He makes life an adventure for His purposes. Psalm 16:11 - Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Just what I needed to hear… time to let go of what isn’t serving me in this season.

This is exactly where I'm at, and you are right, it's actually doing what needs to be done. I told my therapist today that it's like I'm at the edge of the cold ocean and I'm afraid to my jump in because I find cold water so painful. Thank you, Dr. Cloud. A year later and your video is still helping people. 🙏💜🙏

This is also regarding an abusive marriage, but very few people are courageous to say this.

This was an on time word for my life. After the shutdown I made the decision not to return to all of the small groups I attended. It was very helpful to know the people who really belonged in my inner circle. Thank you for the valuable wisdom. Be Blessed

You know when it is time for a change: you can feel it. I have been criticized for being a quitter in relationships, but i know when it is not working and when we tried and tried and it still wasn't working, I was the one who left even though it was painful.

This is definitely a blindspot for me after an upbringing of many sudden house moves, school changes, family heirloom throwouts, where my parents would just decide these things with zero checking in on the impact. Compounded by being refugees and leaving our country of birth day when I was 3 with v little contact maintained with relatives. Hence even though my natural personality is very dynamic and adaptable, I hang onto situations, people, etc past their expiry date because I feel like so many significant things were discarded in my past, I seek stability that way. It's very interesting to hear Dr Cloud's clinical perspective on this.

God bless you, it's him, it's your spouse's issues, you see it, go, leave, get loved by your group, rebuild yourself, if it's a pattern , unless he admits it and becomes conscientious and has a complete change of mind and ❤️ heart , he needs Jesus, pray 🙏 🤲 for him, but take good care of you first and get healed and love and live healthy. An unhealthy relationship is toxic. God bless you 🙏

What are the signs "an ending is in order" when it comes to your life's work? I have been doing great work for 20+ years leading organizations centered in community and economic development. What actions and attitudes should I look for that says-- move on to your next.
