“This video is brought to you by insanity” might be my most favourite opening to a KZbin video

I think my first approach would've been to make 8 mm dot mold and poured dots, refined them, and glued them in like MOP dots. I like what you did! New ideas!

The dots look really good. Some great tips Ben, thank you. I have a couple of tips. 1) when drilling out an existing inlay, I start at the 12th fret. So, when I stuff up my 1st attempt (as I do) I can turn it into a larger more elaborate inlay and it looks like I planned it that way. 2) Gluing a neck V's bolt on. When gluing a neck joint, one needs to have a joint thats not as tight as a bolt on. I probably learnt this from one of Bens other video's :)

I do struggle to watch the longer videos normally, but for some reason this one caught my eye

With that neck and fret board you really should have done the burst - it's not too late to sand back the middle... I've been watching for 6 years now, and I learned something new from you today (dot removal) - thanks! Now I can add inlay dot replacement to my repertoire of lutherie skills. I'll have to try that out on a build. That point about raising the grain on fretboards is a good one - never heard anyone mention that before - good for players who never oil their fretboard. There's a difference between just building something and building something to last - even with neglect.

Great video, I've been wanting to replace my mop with clay dots, didn't want to refret it. This was great...now I need to order some Crimson fret rubbers

I have molds of plectrums for my excess epoxy resin from my embedding human tissue for electron microscopic analysis. They are my favorite plecs, the tone is exquisite

Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is not the same as denatured alcohol. Denatured alcohol is ethanol + methanol, and is considerably more volatile than IPA. I would use acetone...because the extra volatility makes it faster.

Cement drills work great for areas you want a clean hole but do not want to risk tear out or material fracture.

Just to be clear "going in dry" is only good advice for the guitar neck pocket, 😕 nice progress

I love the builds, but can we get a new build? This is like video 5 on this guitar. I know these are meant as educational videos, but so much of this has been covered in previous builds. So much fun of this channel is watching the design and build of unusual guitars and how you can overcome or engineer your vision. Just my opinion.

You realize these guitars don't appear from thin air? As a (novice) guitar builder myself, especially the finishing part of a guitar build is long and tedious!

For several months now you are kind of scary, in a strangely pleasant way. I'm reassured that you have guitars to channel your inner energies...
