Last Sept I (mistakenly) bought two *get 1 free Variation Venosa from the "northwest" nursery, hoping to introduce pitcher plants to a bog garden in front of my greenhouse and then our swampy bog if they survived and multiplied at all. My 3 plants are beautifully distracting me from Maine's frigid outdoor temps - currently on the top shelf of a lighted plant stand of 1 cool/1 warm light fictures. Not getting their hibernation period. Because back in Sept I couldn't bring myself to put them outside. But also they're not dead yet! I am thinking what I have only likes winter about as far north as New Jersey? Going to need a plan C. Plan A was seeds and I have so far failed that experiment as well. I did nearly step on an actual native pitcher plant trying to catch a trout 2 years ago at one of our favorite unnamed boggy brooks. And the Orono Bog Boardwalk has them thriving several miles from me as a crow flies. Or hungry bug?! Plan B now named Laurie's Folly... but still wistfully determined to see a pitcher plant in my swamp bog.

5:00 Utricularia has no root. Those are modified leaves.

Yup, the traps are the leaves, and what may seem like roots are actually stems.

Where did you source the seeds?

Carnivorous Plant Nursery has them available online. I actually harvested mine with permission from private property. Be aware the legality of that may vary from state to state (or province in Canada). Generally, this is not harmful if collected properly and in moderation.
