Naafiri says in this trailer one of the most badass line in the game : "Alone, I starved. But together, we feast" It tells me Naafiri actually did try to avoid becoming a dog but realized she was too weak alone (probably because her soul was split into pieces because multiple dogs bite the dagger) and decided to become, not only a dog, but the entire pack.

I feel like the alpha dog is where the bulk of Naafiri's consciousness is. The rest of the pack clearly has Naafiri in them but most likely are being controlled in a hive mind kind of way. I think Naafiri didn't want to become a pack of dogs, just like you said. That's why she's running from them. But somewhere during the run she realized that her mind is just too weak to exist on its own. She has too much trauma. This is why Aatrox is crazy. He has nobody to lean on. But Naafiri got better when she accepted the pack of wolves inside her conciousness. She was able to overcome her trauma and think clearly because that pack of wolves helped her deal with it. That's why Naafiri isn't going to destroy entire world in order to kill herself, like Aatrox. She just wants revenge on Shurima and she doesn't care about the rest of the world.

The part where she starts running through the pillars, the shadowy dog sorta reminds me of Kindred Wolf since there was only one dog, and then you mentioned that she doesn't want to like die or get trapped but she ends up in the hands of the hounds instead, so maybe the original Naafiri didn't want to die, get chased by Wolf as it was his job to chase those who doesn't embrace death, gets turned into the dagger, and the hounds get ahold of her. That's my theory based on this trailer.

Tbskyen proposes that the shadow wolves are symbolic of the horrors in her memories of the past. By accepting the pack she abandons them shedding (at least mostly) the pain from the agony of immortality and the void.

Pausing at 10:13, that statue kinda looks feminine to me @NecritTV Didnt Aatrox destroy statues of Xolaani, could this be another statue of Xolaani that was destoryed? Or maybe one of Naafiri herself? Signifying her fall to darkin status during the war. Like the picture of the war was talking about the war specifically, but the statue was signifying that she specifically was one of the casualties. Sorry kinda reacting as I watch the video: At 11:36, (and I feel like he will probably figure this out as I watch more. But that view is from the human we saw at the beginning of the trailer. All of the images beforehand were Naafiri's memories flowing into this human, and now the human being fully corrupted is looking at the dagger and realizing it is empty, because Naafiri is now within the themselves. Then of course the next parts shows the corrupted human trying to run away from the other dogs/Naafiri, and having their physical body transform into that of a hound as they do so. Then the next scene of the dogs stabbing the singular hound (which is our former human) is symbolic of Naafiri winning complete control over the mortal. Of course, this means that at the end Naafiri is talking at the end, she is directly addressing the mortal once she has taken over the body.

I personally think that all Naafiri was going through in this moment of her life was not only her mind adapting to a complete new body than before (presuming her previous form was human), but also her own mind literally splitting into the whole hounds pack. This would also explain the whole aura of fear that was gathering up in the cinematic while she was running in that hall, just for it to end in her final pack form

This entire trailer packed so much character. The memories and trauma from her ascension, the war with Icathia, possibly the Darkin war. Her mind being split and shattered because multiple dogs took the weapon at the same time. Her hesitation to take over the pack clashing with her desire to break free from her prison. That scene in the labyrinth of her giving in to the pack. All culminating in her reaching the epiphany that she alone is weak but together with the pack in unity are more. I'm curious what her personality really is now. She's a hivemind but is she a single entity controlling many or multiple minds connected as one?

Also we saw in "The Call" a shurimian female ???something???. With very specific blades very similar to that one Naafiri is. Since the trailer is so impressionistic it's likely that much of it is symbolic, like she is the prey, being chased in her mind by the horrors of the past (and present because being in the weapon is like a sensory deprivation chamber but 1000x worse). By giving chase, becoming the pack she gives up the last remnants of her humanity that are haunted by her memories and becomes the Hounds

Ok this is just my personal thoughts, idk if it’s wrong or not but this is just what I think from what I saw. First off the green eyes that is like the one in the blade, is supposed to represent Naafiri’s consciousness, as this is literally her looking around and seeing what is happening. Secondly, I think the blade got shattered and scattered to the different members of the pack, with the handle going to the pack leader. I think this, because in the scene where the grey darkin dagger is shown, the trinket is removed and the dog that naafiri inhabited looked incomplete, with the blade things missing on her sides. She ran away from the pack who presumably gotten the blade shards and began to hunt Naafiri to become whole again, she ran until she gave up and accepted that this was going to be her form. The scene where the pack leader gets impaled by the lesser dogs signifies naafiri finally becoming whole again, afterwards the entire pack unified into one dog (the pack leader/naafiri) that can release the other lesser dogs whenever she wishes to for combat. What made me think that it’s one dog that can just split off other lesser dogs is her ultimate, if you look at her ability showcase, her ultimate is her turning into a weird blob that will eventually split off and release more dogs that will help naafiri hunt.

Honestly, Naafiri could be a reworked thematic concept of Omen. A lot lines up with both of their physical designs. Quadrupedal demon-like animal with a forward facing spine-like weapon erupting out of it. The only difference was that Omen was a Voidborn and Naafiri is Darkin.

I think the last scenes of the dog being stabbed by the dagger-dogs is more likely a metaphor for the reemerging of a centralized subjectivity, after naafiri got dismembered by multiple individual dogs. It's like she's accepting her new reality and reorganing her perception

I think Naafiri personality got split between the hounds, getting corrupted by their animalistic instinct. The dagger took a form similar to them or transformed one of them into the pack leader. Then the hounds forced her to become the leader by threatening her, basically threatening herself of self destruction

the dialogue is important here because once dialogue starts, its clear her lines of "Alone I starved, but united we feast" represents her realizing that, now as this pack unit, she can find unity within herself, and her willingly accepting the hounds "attacking" her is a metaphor for her accepting this change completely because they meld together into this heap of sharp blades, and she grows till she can reach and bite the sun, to break the symbol of Shurima that had made her and entrapped her.

You're right, Necrit. I believe during the Chase scene, it was Naafiri herself running away from the dogs, not wanting her soul to be bind into an animal. Only then at the end of the chase, she realized that accepting it was better than being alone & trapped inside the blade. And the scene where I believe it to be with the original dog's "Pack leader", all of them were already corrupted but I notice Naafiri wasn't present in that scene. Only after the pack killed their original leader, Naafiri took over the body so she can claim herself as the New Pack Leader. Even then if You notice right at the end, when Naafiri's blades comes out, the rest of the pack reacts to it & growls along with Naafiri. I really believed that Naafiri is trying to get her revenge on Shurima, considering on how many times the "Sun Disc" appeared in this trailer, only this time with her own Pack Update: I went back to Varus's updated voicelines, one of His lines to Naafiri was "You wished Unity for Us, Sister. Can this be realized in battle?" Makes more sense that Naafiri wanted to reconnect with the other Darkins to get revenege on Shurima, but it seems very unlikely the Darkins will listen. So she chose to create her own Pack, a Unity under Naafiri's wish

I think this champion is very cool, but I’m very frustrated that we wait this long for a monster champion, and it’s basically just a reskinned dog. I wish they would’ve at least made it be a unique animal from runeterra, not just something from real life basically. Overall I think this is the right direction in design for a darkin, but I wish this wasn’t the “monster” champion I’ve been waiting for.
