Man I have two ideas for gangs. One is a space marine scouts from the imperial fists who've gone down there too fight the heretics and all that sort of stuff. They have one is using the hunt master as a outlaw gang leader and possibly making him a psycho or make him a mutant archetype of mutations literally caused by him being so in breaded

Pre-ordered my copy of Book of Desolation and added both boxed sets of Spyers today. Also can I just say in my tired eyes I looked away and was listening to the episode and when I looked back your banister with bag hanging on it looked like the girl from the ring, scared the shit out of me.

Love the video! I just ordered the book, already built my Orrus from the Secundus box and will 100% get the Spyrer box next. Spyrers were always my favourites in old Munda, the Malcodon being my favourite, I had one of each and a second Malcodon in my old gang.

Malcadon will be very fun to use honestly. I think the Jakara armament is my overall favorite though. Shooting flash at people is just awesome

The only reference I could find for disintegration weapons what's in the 30th anniversary space marine book. "Disintegration Weapons are a type of Human Archaeotech. Relics from the Dark Age of Technology, these weapons can reduce a target to atoms in the blink of an eye. Though highly dangerous, few remain in Imperial use and the ones that do are revered beyond measure." I assume more is in the book of desolation

It could be that disintegration weapons are another name for adrathic weapons of the custodes. Since both are well disintegration energy weapons. If so it's amazing that they are on necromunda

Great overview! I am probably going for a Khorne/Slaanesh corrupted Hunt master with 2x Naga blades for my 'serious' Spyrer gang and a Slaanesh corrupted Mutant (Eye stalks) Orrus Outcast leader (using the Power talons), painted Red and called Dr Zoidberg, for a 'Meme' mutie gang :D Keep up the good work and cheers! :)

Seeing them on paper and their stats, i think spyrers will have hard times while dealing with vehicles, high toughness ones in particular. So... I think they would be best used in non Ash wastes games (well, its kinda their gist in the lore anyway, by going in Underhells and focusing on hunting Jeans-stealers) We'll see. Probably someone in my group will field them in the Succession part 3 campaign we are going to play in the near future.

Thank you for the preview! I am looking forward to building list with the spyrer hunters but have to wait a bit before my local games, cards and comics shop has the book available. I don't mind giving money to GW but I like to support locally if I can👍 The only minus I have with the spyrer models is the samey poses. They all have their left thigh forward. Even a mirror flip of one of the sculpts would have been nice. I'm very particular when it comes to my models, which is complete arse because that is combined with crap converting skills. I'll have to think of something, and hey maybe it won't be so bad when I have them assembled. Edit: By the way the way, Wellywood, you got any recommendations for weapon loadout for the Hunt Master? The selection of weapons is choice-paralysing

Also curious about the Post Battle action options... I'm new, so I'm probably missing something, but what do they even do with them? I think their "glitch" table supercedes the Doctor, and none of the others apply to them. New player, starting with Spyrers. As a long-time 40k player, I find the campaign side of the rules FAR more confusing than the combat side, so the fact they ignore half of them was actually a selling point.

I like everything about the Spyrer's except their heads. I think you could make a Heretek themed gang by splicing in some necron, van saar and mechanicum bits

Another one (two really) that have gone on the Necro playlist. A quick question regarding the kill count. Is that only increased for each person/mutant/creature that you kill? Or do other harsher injuries to the above also count towards that?

@@wellywoodwargaming Thank Feth for that. That was the HARDEST hunt mission to achieve for the Olde Spyrer's. 2 KILLS for every Spyrer (nothing else counted (GS gits!)). As well as no recruitment at all. So VERY pleased they've changed both of those. Already got a couple of boxes on preorder & am EAGERLY awaiting the end of the month to get them 🤘🏻😁

My problem with spyrers is that I LOVE the Orrus, but the rest are ...mehh I would convert the others

I don't think so, he's very strong but for the ammout of creds he costs he should be. A well aimed tyramite will take him out in one shot and setting him on fire is probably the best way of mitigating him

@@wellywoodwargaming thank you for the answer, im just getting in to necromunda, so my knowledge of the powerlevels between gangs is limited. i am pondering, what starting gang to buy, and decided, that even if spyre hunters are really cool, it is perhaps not the best starter army. love your vids, so keep up the good work!

Do they get pinned by an attack by a radphage weapon? I dont have the rulebook so cant see the sentence in which its mentioned. Also would they get pinned by a toxin or gas attack?

Rad and toxin will still pin if it's not saved by armour or field. Gas weapons don't often pin at all

@wellywoodwargaming fair about gas ;) so their main ability that can keep them up, and make them worth their cost and two activations, can easily be countered by just getting a lucky radphage fleshwound or by a toxin attack.

Disintegrator Matrix is variant of weapons used by ENFORCER BODYGUARDS from Vault of Temenos. Lore wise this is similar to Necron gaus weapons, damage target on atomic level. Is not written, but estetic may suggest Necron origin of the weapon, and unstable may by from to low understanding of Necron technology.

I guess that's kinda the point of them. I think they'll be more fun to play from a tactical stand point though

I disagree, as even in a basic gang fight scenario they have to adapt and adjust their tactics to every gang far more than other gangs due to their much lower numbers. In a more complex scenario, the other player's reaction to the objectives has an effect on the Spyrer player's strategy - do they rush for the objectives to lay in wait, pressure the larger gang into a killzone by denying certain objectives with positioning, or do they try to catch gangers returning with loot? Do they take out the juve on his own the other player used as an obvious decoy or head straight for their leader?
