When 9th dropped, Necrons seemed scary. After watching this, I'm scratching my head wondering what happened? That was brutal!

Necron anti tank is unreliable to flat out just bad. Can't really deal with that many buggies. MAYBE the void dragon can help a bit as he's good against planes and the like but it's still a very desperate situation. As far as strength as a whole, they are overcosted, resurrection protocols don't come up very often, and their command protocols ability is extremely forgettable. The new changes to CORE help a bit to make some new synergies to make a few things a little bit more efficient but there just isnt enough of them on the board for what they do.

@@Yoyoman996 Even worse is that command protocols are fiddly with planning turn order, picking which of two effects, subfactions altering how they work etc. for a mostly minor effect. So it's a bunch of mental load for little impact. Great.

Although the Adrenaline Junkies don't get the clan kulture trait they still get a clan keyword. Access to the evil sunz WT, Relic and strat is very good for them as these all still work on them. eg Redder armour on a deffkilla, the sunz WT works on evil sunz core (Bikers) etc

I have been playing necrons for a long time. Being able to have more veil targets now is amazing! Love it. I think they do need a points adjustment. A 20 man brick of skitarii rangers are still cheaper than a 20 man brick of warriors.

Point drops are needed, I would like points reduced on doomstalkers and all HQ the most. Oh yeah and my dream of all HQ getting a free use of the resurrection strat :P

@@dArKp4th But I'm super happy with how RP works in 9th. I started playing necrons at the end of 8th and they where super frustraiting for everyone. In 1k games your units where invincible and in 2k games they never triggered. I think the new rules balance them selves out quite nicely. On 1w models they are great, 2w ok and on the scarabs they still are ok because often times you loose 4-5 in one go and have a good chance reviving 1-2 bases. The only spot they are really bad in is 3w because the units are usually rather small, expensive and you only loose 1-2 models at a time, making it very unlikely to revive a model. But of cause I would love a points drop on my favourite faction too ;-)

Transportation struggles are real. Finished my logan grimnar on storm rider and decided to take it to the shop to play. The vibrations from the ride snapped the thin point where the stormrider connects to the base.

It's the Necrons vs AdMech battle all over again 😩 a fluffy/meme list vs a sweat list. At the start of the game I was seriously wondering how many points the orks actually were cause it looked like double the amount of points the Necrons had

Well warriors and skorpeks seem pretty fair. I do see what you mean when it comes to things like doomstalkers and scythes and stuff like that though. I feel like szeras is now worth the 160 at least

@@davidbowles7281 they are ok for what they have. But drop to 30-32 points max they ned. But codex problem is a mix of 8ed and 9ed stuff. Like there bigest guns that ned to stand still is only d6 damage and heavy destroyers is 3d3 damage that no other unit have, but meny units ned 5-15% points drop. Like The canoptec acantrites is 40 and ned to be 30-32 more interesting, or make there melta-Gun version be like drukhari heat lance ( range 18 ap 4- damage D6+2) and be 35 points then.

I don't understand why Jon didn't move his Necrons out? He spent over 3 hours in his deployment zone with an aggressive list? Like, the Praetorians just sat there and never moved. Why even bother to take jump troops and aircraft if you aren't going to be aggressive with them? My conclusion is that Jon isn't an aggressive list player, or knows how to counter aggressive lists. This could've been a much better game if Jon just wrote a list to match his own style of play.

Before anyone says anything, the new crons player played really well but used a fluffy list I think. Doom scythe and ophidians are still meh and I think a wraith spam would have worked better here ( like 10/15).

Love these games! I run a silver tide kind of list when I play necrons. Something like three blobs of 20 necron warriors, two ghost arks and then whatever else. So when I started watching this bat rep I was low-key freaking out that the necron player effectively has nothing on the field. Keep up the great content!

I saw the rules update. When can we expect to see an Imperial Guard armoured company using the Spearhead Detachment, Titans? List has only vehicles except for Elites (no troops! I dare you), up to 6 heavy slots, all Leman Russ keyword units are obsec. You could have a lot of fun with this.

Just a heads up, you can't My Will be Done Triarch Praetorians, as they are not Dynasty keywords, they are Dynastic agents.

Illuminor Szeras can not use arcana becourse he is a Dynastic agent and they are not allowed to use arcana. Unless GW has changed thoes rules.

Just want to clarify I know you can't use clan kultures with the speedmob but you can use relics and strats if I'm not mistaken and second question as a example would I be able to have two detachments one speedmob that is what ever klan your using the strats with and the sec detachment with the klan of your playing as normal would this work?

@@erikwilhelmi3426 yep. Mostly Points are Not the issued imo. All the big Guns have D6 shots, wich is very Swingy. Maybe 2d3 or Something. Why does the Stalker gets Garbage from moving? He is a vehicle. They don't get Shooting penaltys for heavy weapons.

Hey, I’m just getting into the game. What’s the best way to find all the changes made to a faction after a codex? I bought a harlequins codex but I feel like I’m having to hunt down any changes made since it released.

WahaPedia generally carry all updates into their data sheets. So things like points drops and new keywords are on there. Sometimes takes a while to update but with an army that doesn’t have a 9th Ed codex I imagine you’ll be fine using that resource. (Assuming I’m not mistaken)

All matches I’ve seen with any kind of Ork buggy list are pretty onesided and barely fun for the opponent. Adrian’s great guy, just take away that evil list from him. 😉

As i thought, Orks are still way too much. Limiting the number of a certain Buggy type and flyers helps, but only marginally, as long as they still can take an entire army of overly point efficient units. In other words, they need a point increase on many units on top of what happened!

Necrons aren’t exactly a top tier army right now, a list like this against drukhari, grey knights or sisters would do a lot worse

@@cornvuscornax4719 oh, but they actually DID nerf Admech and Drukhari points wise. And quite massively, i might add! Sisters are probably now again on par with them. But Orks didn’t get a single point increase, so i am more than convinced that they are now the only top tier left! They could put a 2500-3000 points of overly efficient stuff on the table still. Other than that, this Ork army is also not the optimized Freebooterz list that wins tournaments!

@@ForceM1782 the ork codex was always a tier below drukhari and admech, freebooterz propelled them into being a tier 1 army, the old freebooterz lists are dead so they’ll likely be worse. Also this was wasn’t a clear cut nerf for drukhari, covens came out of this with a buff and covens were already a great drukhari build, this change will likely not effect drukhari much at all.

The old freebooterz lists need a few different buggies, that’s all, but 2 Planes and what? 5 of the Squig buggies are still plenty enough, when the alternatives are just a bit different in shooting, but not a lot worse. The durability also remains unchanged. Mark my words, this will be more dominant than ever, because the opposition got weakened a huge lot. Speaking of which… Drukhari played mainly succubi, wyches and incubi. The Raiders are more expensive as well. They lose 1-2 entire units if they take anything remotely comparable to what they had. It’s one of the biggest point nerfs across an army archetype tgat i have ever seen in 40k (Well deserved too) Covens are fine and dandy, but not even in the same ballpark as what they could take until now!

Also, I'd say that Im a little disappointed with this report. It felt like the Necron list was doomed to fail. Exploring the core keyword addition is great but when you are matching them with speed freaks and a million buggies, without taking any anti tank outside of melee (Lokhust Heavy Destroyers also got core as well.) Also, the Necron player seems a little inexperienced with the faction, which also made the match up very one sided.

A nice big unit of destroyers or heavy destroyers would have been nice. Illuminor can rites of reanimation 2 of them now and additional one with the technomancer stratagem.

@@nathank1512 That is true, although don't forget that rites only works once per unit, even if you can use it multiple times. I'd be interested in seeing some Lokhust platforms with MWBD and some protection. I still think Szeras is a bit of a trap, since the HQs in the cron book are usually a bit expensive considering you do load up on them. I'm just concerned that the mythical Destroyer death blobs are still going to be to points expensive for what they offer. But hey, I think the Nightbringer is looking better now if Drukhari move into Covens.

@@nathank1512 My initial plan was to add some Skorpeks into my 2k list, which is already core focused. I k ow a lot of people are going all in on Skorpeks, but I believe a unit in the usual Necron list is tbe right way to go. My list is overlord with relic orb, Techno, chrono with VoD. 2*20 warriors, 5 immortals, 10 Lychguard, 6 Skorpeks, Nightbringer and 5 scarabs, as well as 2 LHD. I also have plasmacyte and 2 Murder buckets as well.

Its the lack of range and power on the necron guns 12inch 24inch easy for enermy units to stay out of range they need a boost in gun power form some were either better guns or ways to super charged the guns id risk it to super charge a dooms day arch or a stalker to make its guns better there vehicles are just out matched by every one else's even destroyers could do with the ability to super charge there guns to make them more effective on enermy armour

Why can't a night scythe move off the table in a pregame move? This was never addressed, just a mention that the chat was 100% sure you can't.

The rule that says aircraft can fly off the board specifically states in the movement phase.

The problem with the night scythe is in the minimum move. The pre-game move is ‘a normal move of up to 6”’. The night scythe as a flyer has a move characteristic of 20-50”, so with 6” it can’t make its minimum move of 20”, so it can’t move… I think that’s right

with the core going this way rather than doing it properly and limit it from all the gw should just drop the whole core. when pretty much everything has core it just punishes tanks like predator. the gw had right idea at first, then implemented it horribly and now went crazier. Just remove core from game if it's basically "are you tank? No? No core for you"

@@eacey or we point it out, granted just saying someone is bad isnt the nicest way to put it. After all anyone is free to not play live on youtube if they are not confident in what the army does. personally i know i am not good enough, ruleswise and tactically, to play for an audience. Sure we could just not say anything to keep an overall postive vibe, however then people might stop watching and the TTT crew wouldnt know why because the comments are all sunshine and rainbows. Truth be told i did not enjoy watching the guy enough to keep watching after about half an hour. Maybe i am in the minority here and if it works out in the end good for them but valid criticism is valid and it should be okay to voice it.

Having watched him in a number of these reports on this channel, I’m afraid I would disagree that he is a decent player. Maybe it’s playing live, playing on camera or just that he’s playing opponents who show the difference between them more, but I don’t think I have seen him play well yet. Maybe some tutoring from better players would help?
