DUDE! i did this for 2 years with my PK in 8th too! I totally thought it was the same stats of a rokkit for some dumb reason i only figured out i gimped myself for so long cuz i called out a marine power fist having ap-3, because fist and klaws are the same, but when i checked i realized how long i had been doing this. like we need more handicaps haha

I wish the Orks played like Orks. Holding back feels so wrong but with so many armies having these bogus fight first mechanics (while orks get none for SOME REASON), it seems VERY UNFAIR. Goff WL trait should be a fight first aura CHANGE MY MIND.

Well, even Orks do have to be kunnin' and brutal than brutal and kunnin'. Even Orks know when to pull back forces and hold ground. Even holding back reserves to make one final push is something not beyond Orks to do. Though that requires a proper Warboss to all that kind of thinkin'. Leave it to the big boss to thinkin' and you doin' all the smashin'. If yer start thinkin'. I'll put my choppa into yer head. Not very orky to be thinkin'. We clear?

You do not get a free Malefic Talon attack with the demon prince. The weapon ability states that you may make one additional attack with this weapon, but only if you select that weapon. When a unit is activated in the fight phase you choose one melee weapon to fight with, period. The tyranids have tail spikes that specifically state "this is in addition to the bearer's other attacks" but no luck with the demon prince.

The rules for ruins and other area terrain says that you need to discuss the footprint of the terrain before the game to see if something is within. Thus they imply simply touching is not enough unless you agree that the footprint is a little outside the walls.

Sacrificing 130+ points and a CP for that damage output is hardly ever more than a trade. The only reason I can see that popping up in the occasional tournament list is because Orks don't have snipers (outside of the lore :P). So that's the only way to reliably take 3 wounds out of a castled-up hero.

I like this channel a lot, and maybe this is more of a stylistic choice on your part and a way of differentiating yourselfs, but I think that some more focused camera work that showed actively what was going on, on the table, would go a long way to improving these videos. Just my opinion though, love your content!

A good match up as both sides are lower tier competitively and reasonably similar in the shooting/melee stakes. 40k can sometimes be a bit one sided when a heavy shooting army faces off against a heavy melee army. I’m liking the new objective focus of the game. Gets away from the ‘blow everything up’ to win mentality.

I just started watching the video so apologies if this gets answered later in the vid, but I'm very curious how space wolves will do this edition. Do you guys have a batrep planned for them as you work your way through the factions?

It gets answered in a short response within the video, but from watching a lot of their videos I can give u a more in depth response. They say the weakness of space wolves in this edition is that they arent great at shooting, and they arent great at holding while getting shot at. Their suggestions around this are more Rhinos, razerbacks, etc... with troops inside. They mentioned the changes to heroic interventions hurting space wolves badly. They also did talk about how armor of russ is a lot better in 9th. They are planning on doing a space wolves game soon, and in this game Brian is running 30 terminators with storm shields I think. So from what I understand, you will be seeing a lot more space wolve termi's , dreadnaughts, and transports in 9th. In a different video they mentioned space marine army lists consisting of 60 assault intercessors, and I could honestly see space wolves turning into an impulsor shield dome mid board rush and hold type army. They did also mention getting some land raider crusaders in the mix for the space wolves XD.

I am personally hoping that the points drop on the stormfang and stormwolf since they already had move and shoot with no penalty. And the hell-frost weapons on the fliers are all blast and D3. So if a unit with 6+ models is targeted, u are going to be getting 9 shots with the gunship. I hope that this unit starts to shine, but know its not too likely. Also with the changes to morale and missions, I could see some fenrisian wolves being good again. Since you can take a huge unit and then put them in reserve then attempt to use this to establish some mid board control. The thing I dont want as a space wolves player in 9th is to use all primaris models. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Just disappointing after 8th to see SW be likely bottom tier again. Less resilient than ever, no more mobile and as mentioned, bad shooting. Impulsors apparently being nerfed as well .... 🤷🏼‍♂️ Edition seems like guns+/guns++

@@christopherb1913 Kinda, I think guns will be strong, but, mid-range will be better, Being able to have good shooting followed by a strong charge can break a line will be clutch in a lot of games. I think thats part of the reason why termis will be better, not only for holding an objective, but for also being able to shoot and then charge and take an objective.

I will have to disagree with the whole its a shooty meta, the meta is still fresh and many tricks still to do, and finding my melee goff orks have gotten better because of the new edition, and ghaz, especially storm boyz in this edition is really good and fun to do.

Can't use the strat w/ Epidemicyst Blade. The relic states that it "replaces" the sword. Strat specifically requires the sword or axe.

bladeguard in blood angels are just revivable better custodes lol 2+ save for stormshield, same strength as spear but better because blood angels, better ap, and still a 4+ invuln and three wounds. They are also cheaper.

I'm curious. How to you interperate "touching" to be "on or within"? They are not the same at all. If you have a ruin defined by exterior walls then I would say you would have to be within the footprint of those exterior walls, not touching the outside of those walls.

In the live chate several arguments circle around this. Chatmaster said, they are sure touching is correkt, cause of "whithim" rules. Like you i cant see any case for touching=within. Hey Titans, I would like to see a more detailed answer here to understand this conzept/Interpretation! or a seperat video maybe :D

The rulebook on terrain rules actually say that for area terrain(ruins) you have to agree where the footprint is to know if you are within. That implies that simply touching is not enough unless you agreed on the footprint extending a little beyond the walls.

@@grinxen Exactly. I've paused the video to the overhead camera pov from before the Plagueburst Crawlers were moved. That particular terrain piece has a broken wall indicating the limits the footprint on that side and a few bits of scenic scatter slate for decoration. I'd like to know how the Titans defined that terrain piece because, based on what I can see, there is no way three massive tanks are within or on that terrain.

Goonhammer even did an article about this suggesting everyone should put the footprint along the inner wall of ruins to balance the game more. This would mean touching is not enough but actually entering the ruin with part of the base would be required. This is according to the rule to establish were the footprint is before the game.

First, amazing video from team Tabletop Titans, nice job! That being said, the game devolving to just sitting in the middle of the table holding objectives doesn't look fun to watch or to play. This is compounded by armies that are more durable and get sit and hold objectives. I hope I am wrong as I dive into 9th, but as an Ork player, I am really disappointed with what I am seeing so far.

From all the stuff I've been watching of late Faster lighter armies like Drukari will want to pop in and out and move around the bored even more and castles will have to move and split up a bit to stay up in points. It will be different, but as the meta settles will see what comes out on top, it probably won't be CC armies. And also, that end was great.
