Time to start working my way through "Onset of Putrefaction" again, starting with the first track, "Foul Body Autopsy"! A real pain to play - going all over the diminished arpeggio in such a moderate tempo is just right to make my fingers cry.
KZbin's downsampling from 50 fps might make the video look time-stretched - switch to the higher settings at 50 fps and it should look more natural!
It's in C-standard because it's simply too much of a hassle to go from my regular tuning, C-standard, to E-standard with all the balancing, intonation etc. that is required, just for one or two covers.
It was recorded June 29 using a Shure SM57 (angled very slightly, aimed at the center of the left bottom speaker) through an E-MU 0404 USB 2.0 audio interface.
The video was recorded using a Sony HX100V, edited using Sony Vegas Pro 13.0 x64 and rendered as a 1920x1080 50p (same as the original footage) MP4 video using 2 reference frames, "High", 14 Mbps CBR, CUDA-encoded, with 48 kHz and 384 kbps audio.
Guitar: Jackson Warrior WRMG (with EMG 81/85).
Amplifier: Peavey 6505+ and an Ashdown Peacemaker 412A cabinet with Celestion G12E-50 speakers (one of them, the speaker used, is a Celestion V30).
Strings: Ernie Ball "Not even slinky" "Custom gauge nickel wound guitar strings" (12 16 24p 32 44 56).
Pick: Dunlop Jazz III.
Pre: 5.9
Low: 3.3
Mid: 6.1
High: 7.2
Post: 0.8
Resonance: 4.7
Presence: 7.1

That's splendid :) I'm not very good at growling first of all, but most importantly, it would probably take ages to learn to play and sing this at the same time. Suicmez is a complete freak at that haha! Thanks!

Any tips you can give to help me reach this level of skill? Really admire your playing and effort you put into your videos, always happy to see a post from you in my sub box, great video once again bro.

Try to stick to about an hour every day (maybe except the weekend if you don't like playing when hungover) - it takes maybe ten minutes just to get warmed up, depending on what you're playing and how you're playing it. Spend about half the time just practicing chops. Learn new shred patterns and arpeggios and so on. Then you should also have some fun by putting it into practice by learning new songs of course. Always start slow with a metronome whenever you come across something difficult or are learning a new shredding pattern or arpeggio. I'd recommend Guitar Pro's Speed trainer (press F9 with a passage highlighted), it makes it really easy to quickly slow down songs and play along while automatically increasing the tempo by an amount specified by yourself. Also check out the Winamp plugin, Pacemaker, which allows you to change the pitch and playback tempo of any song in real time. I always learn things using Guitar Pro's Speed trainer and then play along with the actual song at slower tempos and increase the tempo as I go (I usually do this to warm up as well). Thanks, I'm glad to hear! :)

Haha, a shorter song means you have to play faster to hit an acceptable amount of notes.

Yeah, or at least not as stamina-demanding, because this song is quite a pain to play!

Great cover man, extremely well played! May I ask how much time does it take for you to learn a song like this to perfection?
@Hagroth
@Hagroth 8 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! Necrophagist songs usually take me 5-7 hours (one hour per day), at least when they have solos to top the complex riff structures off.

You're very welcome! I think I was pretty fortunate in the sense that I always happened to listen to stuff that I actually was on the verge of being able to play, so it never seemed like a long road. I think it's just a coincidence - I started playing guitar when I was mad into Slipknot, which is really simple to play, and then I started getting into thrash etc. and could easily play Slipknot and many Metallica songs by then and so on. One exception is when my dad bought this Malmsteen DVD when I was learning stuff from "The Black Album" - it completely blew my mind as I thought Hammett was one of the best guitarists in the world haha, and I knew it'd take many years to ever get to that level, if ever! Cheers, mate!

Haha, that's a nice journey man. I also remember revering Kirk Hammett - kind of funny how you can easily notice his limitations now (still love the guy anyway!). I started playing roughly half a year ago, and so far I've been cherrypicking the Megadeth songs I could barely play at the moment :) It really helps a lot, both in technical sense and motivationally. By now, I'm only able to play rhythm parts, but it's still quite a challenge (learning Holy Wars now - ouch!). Some of your covers help a lot, btw!

Hehe yeah, been there too obviously. The further you get the longer the road seems, but at least the perceived progress is a lot faster in the beginning! :) I'm glad to hear, keep it up!
