Muhammed Suchimez is the lead guitar player/vocalist and he writes all of their material. You need to see their summer slaughter 2007 video for a reaction. Its mind blowing

He does not actually write all their material, Muenzer himself said he wrote ALL the solos he played in the Epitaph album, I'm also pretty sure he wrote the some of the basslines. I believe he also wrote the first half of Symbiotic In Theory. Both Suiçmez and Muenzer are AMAZING musicians though, but Muenzer deserves the credit for the stuff he did

This is a GREAT reaction! You can both appreciate, and be shocked, by the musicianship. I discovered Necrophagist in 2006. They got me into Technical Death metal. In terms of pure musicianship, that genre is hard to match. I also understand why it doesn't have the same "listenability" of other metal subgenres, especially for people unfamiliar with the genre. As a metalhead, guitar player, and music nerd, this band remains at my Mt. Rushmore of technical musicianship.

The Faceless and The Zenith Passage took allot of inspiration from these guys as well. Said in many interviews. Necrophagist is well known and well respected in the metal scene.
