@metalswifty232 жыл бұрын
@@R3tr0v1ru5 Why not? Opeth are/were proof that you can make clean vocals work incredibly well with aggressive backing (cleans over the blast beats in The Lotus Eater a great example). Sure, Mikael growled as well, but not always, and many of their best heavy moments came whilst having him singing instead of growling. Let's also not forget that thrash metal exists, which is aggressive music, and many vocalists employ clean singing (Hetfield, Belladonna, Mustaine etc.). Regardless, that's not the point they were getting at, at all. They obviously didn't like harsh vocals at the time, but loved the musicianship on show in these insane tech and prog death bands. When you get a band like Necrophagist who came along, with guitarists like Muhammed and Christian, people will want to hear how good they are, so they'll tune out the vocals in order to focus on the guitar work.

Hey Geebz, if you liked the musicianship level in this one I suggest checking out Ad Nauseam - Imperative Imperceptible Impulse. From an engineering point of view it's very interesting given that they built most of their own instruments and recording equipment, and also self-produced their albums with an extreme effort to find a way to record the most natural, dynamic, and tridimensional sound possible. The music represents a merging of different styles, the most prominent ones being extreme death/black metal, avantgarde, jazz, post-core, doom/sludge and ambient. The composition process has been heavily influenced by 20th century classical composers like Stravinsky, Šostakóvič, Xenakis, Scelsi, Penderecki, and Ligeti to name a few.

Decomposer just got given a whole new meaning! This band is phenomenal and as others have stated Muhammed was front man and plays one of the two guitar parts live (as well as being the sole writer in the band). If you did ever look at their lyrics, they are seemingly random, quite poetic in the way they are phrased. It is such a shame he decided to go on permanent hiatus, they had just released a live version of a new song then disappeared! Live the two guitarists take turns in the solo sections - they alternate between soloist and rhythm (quite flawlessly too). I am fortunate I got to see them live once, and they were almost studio level tight. Absolute insanity.

Dude, you’re going viral! I saw a link for this video on a death metal page I follow on Facebook. The people have spoken, we need more death metal reactions! My request is Death - Flattening of Emotions.

Ive seen them live twice and they were incredible. The first time I didnt know who they were and they did probably one of the coolest things ive seen at a live show. As they were setting up between bands with the house lights still up I was casually watching the crew set things up and I saw a guy off to the side with a guitar and I assumed it was the tech for Necrophagist getting it ready, but with no warning or cue the drummer came up and the "guitar tech" walked on stage direct to the mic and immediately went into the first song with the house lights still on. It was such a simple thing but such a wake up call, smack in the face, it was just the coolest move to witness. A lot of people there probably didnt even see since usually the lights go out before the band starts so no one was ready for it. The second time I saw them with the world class drummer Marco Minneman who isn't even known for metal but he was able to match the guitars in virtuosity. He would do the best sounding blast beat ive ever heard live using the ride symbol. He played with such intensity and his stikes to the drums had so much velocity that you could feel it in your gut with every hit. It really was a special performance that Im glad I got to witness, especially since the band is done.

I remember when I first heard this song I was just absolutely blown away that stuff like this existed and it took me down a rabbit hole of music and play styles that I had no idea about.

If you know the band Chon, they actually used this song for warming up the fingers.

Gorod - Transcendence EP It's short but has a 15 minute song you'd dig. There are also two acoustic tracks. I would highly recommend the title track or "Blackout: Renewed Souls" because it's technical death metal acoustic experience.

2004 was the release year. I've also just found these guys and they're amazing. And yeah, they pulled this off live. Superhuman precision.

For some other technical death metal in this vein, try Obscura - The Anticosmic Overload from their album Cosmogenesis. Absolute madness.

In this vein bc they share guitarist and drummer! Great track recommendation.

Or "Velocity". First time I heard of that song, someone had stated they "just didn't understand the guitar solo" 🤯 To this day, that solo is simply cosmic.

Ready for your mind to be blown even more? The vocalist is also the guy shredding the guitar. At the same time. Dude is unreal.

I love his face during the whole song hahaha Try some Spawn of Possession ( the evangelist )woo wee Obscura ( Septuagint) , Origin ( antithesis ) There’s a lot of great musicianship in tech death and alot of crazy fretless bass players .
@dusanjanek4422 Жыл бұрын
g like gate, for example. it´s latin word. main composer and guitarist studied classical piano. muhammed recorded also bass on this lp. you can hear it. it´s more guitar playing than typical bass playing.

I never even thought to request this band as most people arent willing to try or cant handle the music. Thanks so much. if you ever wanna do more, my favorite song from them is "to breathe in a casket" not their most popular song but always special to me.

awesome you covered this song. prime technical musicianship displayed here. i have some stuff that would be interesting for you to check out: aquilus - night bell (classically trained multi instrumentalist). obsequiae - ceres in emerald streams (baroque inspired metal). a silver mt. zion - what we loved was not enough (dramatic melancholic post rock with strings). mgła - exercises in futility V (awesome unique drumming). light bearer - primum movens (beautiful atmospheric metal with violin).

Give me a technical Death Metal band that gets even close to Necrophagist Theres nothing alike, there's nothing that doesn't suck in comparison to them, tell me what you want Advanced Corpse Tumor and Fermented offal discharge are fckng brain busting, the guitar solos are by far the best in this genre that have been written It breaks my heart that Muhammed doesn't release the new album

Necrophagist is at least partially responsible for starting the tech metal sub genre and for bringing back an emphasis on guitar solos in death metal. They also put Engl amps on the map in the US. Several members went on to play in Obscura and I highly recommend checking out their song Ethereal Skies.

Great respect for you for trying out with bands like Necrophagist. Others tried but after 20 seconds the water in their tap boiled ... Either you are immune because in Hawaii the water does not boil or you are good at what you do, for me rather the second version ... Regards! Sponsored by :)
