When I had a carbon dioxide geyser I just locked it in a little room under my alveo vera farm with automation on the door so that if I ever didn't have enough CO2 in the farm, the door would open for a few seconds and I'd get some from the room. It had a pressure of something like 55kg/tile in there before the geyser got overpressure and stopped producing.

You can stack the crystals into the same tile under the trees. This will focus the light from them for the branches more evenly. There was so many on my map it wasn't hard to get 8-10 under each tree and get that nectar production almost capped out before using ceiling lights.

What about building some ladders across the ethanol tank, so dupes can run through the room without getting wet? Also, I’m so pleased that Sweepy will have seal friends! It looks like the bonbon tree farms may be the answer to your brine question - that can be used to produce a lot of snow over time, compared to what you’ll be able to collect from meteors. (You’re going to need a source of water to turn into snow for them after all, which I thiiiink we can do now?) If you run cool brine past the lights (and other heat sources) you’ll be able to cool them down before putting it through the desalinator, which will consume some of that heat in the interest of not making the pipes burst as the water comes out. Also also, how did we make it to cycle 146 without buffer tanks?!?!?!? Travesty!

Bonbon trees east so much snow so its not worth it. I suggest you find pips and make wild bonbons, if you want to make spigots ranch. Also yes, you can install pipes directly in to the tree (do it on space surface and drain nectar for early cooling medium or plastic)

actually you could switch to flush toilets, you just have to build a insulated space and pass some of that heated brine to keep the pipe sections from busting. Also wood tiles seem to heat up nicely. same for the room with the water tanks along with the filters. Just keep it away from any liquifiable stuff.

Yes, and snow is a finite resource. During my first play thru I just popped the trees in farming tiles, it worked just fine until I ran out of snow. You don't get very many KG of snow from a single block so it runs out rather fast, and a meteor shower doesn't give enough to feed even a single tree until the next shower. I have a feeling the trees will get nurfed in nature and stay the same in a farm.

Can sweepys go through open doors? And do open doors still count as walls for a ranch? Wonder if it'd be possible to make a small room outside the bonbon/spigot seal ranch with a door you block open (And closed in the sweepy so the critters can't go a'wanderin'.) to let it work and give you the max room for trees.

You could run the brine through a desalinator for salt, giving you table salt and, possibly more importantly on this map for bathrooms: renewable sand. The water can be fed into an ice maker or 2 to give you renewable Ice and Snow for your farms [the Ice Maker can now make snow]. Same goes for the excess water from the bathrooms: More snow and Ice for farming. To avoid some freezing in pipes, you could, instead of sieving all the toilet water, let the pwater overflow directly into the brine tank and let a desalinator/sieve chain decide how to clean it, sending the cleaned water first into the bathrooms, then into an ice maker. The bathrooms could be a layer or 2 below the Bammoth Ranch to keep the melted yellow snow tank and dirty [but not polluted] ice/snow manufacturing close, and close to your oxygen production and rock crusher [less rails to move all that Sand, Ice, Snow, Salt and Table Salt around. Even if the Ice Makers and bathroom can't keep up with the water production, the Pwater overflow still flows back into your septic tank. And if some Pwater gets into the cooling for the Refinery, it will either just bypass the refinery or maybe mix in the reservoir. that part I haven't experimented with. Worst case scenario, you widen the tank a couple tiles below the level of the geyser on the right of it [giving the fresh brine and heated brine a place to spill on both sides] and put the sewer output there, level with the geyser, with a second pump [feeding the "water treatment plant"/bathroom/ice maker chain] directly under it, maybe a tile or 2 above the floor to catch more Pwater than brine, due to density. This should prevent the Pwater from ever getting to the pump for the refinery, if coolant mixing causes damage
@Lightman0359
@Lightman0359 5 ай бұрын
Update: I just did a sandbox test of the running a mixed brine/saltwater/clean water/pwater pond through a metal refinery , sending the spent coolant through cleaning, through a bathroom and back into the sewer. The refinery does stockpile the different coolant types and seems to use either the coolest or whatever it has the most of [I was running copper on forever]. No damage or issues that I noticed. So my idea works, it just needs a little more dupe labor than I thought. I thought the ice makers had a water input instead of being manual.

@littlebear274
@littlebear274 5 ай бұрын
Yeah I looked at their requirements and didn't even try. I've done a little with pips and otherwise just leveled off the top of the asteroid to get the ones that come from meteor showers to go in roughly a horizontal line since pips have a tendency to die fairly quickly in those temperatures. (In theory they *should* stay alive as long as they're in liveable temperatures even if they're not happy about it, but for some reason I've noticed them taking damage as soon as they drop out of comfortable range. Haven't had the same problem with any other critters, just pips.)
@debastiansebeste

@@littlebear274 a small solution to that is to pump out the entire room into a vacuum before throwing the pips in there. Worked wonders for me when I planted my wild bonbon farm, because no matter what temp, in a vacuum the pips feel no temp and take no damage
