Yeah, You just know it's gonna go pear shape once the zombies decide it's easier to dig to the tunnel than attack the base..

@@mando686 The zombies will path to your height first, then path to you. Once they reach the level you are on, they won't then go down and then back up again. Or go up and then back down again. The ai is rather simple this way. I have access holes to my horde base and they always track straight to where I am instead of taking the tunnels. Now, this is only up to this point in development. The pimps could change things in the future. :)

@@nitnoid24 that only applies until Demolishers blow up a hole in the ground and has access to the tunnel. Demons also path differently due to flying but eh. Usually, it's easy to secure it by just putting two doors and then concrete the tunnel. That usually stops anyone from going in.

@@nitnoid24 it's not really a "change". It's just that the flying demons pathing is more like Vultures and demolishers really wreck the pathing AI. It's why Glock 7 base wrapped the church with so many walls. You just need a cop explosion/demolisher to change the pathing a bit and the Vultures/demons do the rest. All I can say is, the AI rules may be the same but the different capabilities for the demons? They can really wreck your expectations once something goes wrong. And in DF, something always goes wrong.

I will say Appsro is not done yet and that base could possibly be their best thise series so far. However I doubt it'll hold up to the real demons when they show. That is if they even play it that far.

It's also known as "playing the game yourself" watching a video telling you how to do and build everything takes away a big portion of learning and exploring. Why explorer if a map online says where to go, why test and build when one guy has a build you can just copy/paste

Appsro, if you place the electric posts on the ground, they reach 2 blocks high. most zombies punch at the 2 block level. this will allow them to destroy your electric posts easier if they want to path there. However, if you dig one block down and place the electric post one block below the ground/floor surface. The top of the post will be at the 1 block high above the ground level. most zombies will not punch them, with the exception of crawlers. Plus, the electric wires between the posts (the zappy snatch part) will be at 1 block high above the ground which allows them to shock crawlers, too. just sayin'.

I go 40 deep for the bunker tunnels. It all comes apart when they detect that tunnel, but i usually live down there so it might be fine for horde night only, but Neebs is totally right, deeper is better. Also you get a crap ton of exp from digging.

I agree. It's crazy how much xp you get from digging. I haven't played since a couple of updates, but I used to begin mining like crazy pretty soon after starting. Mining = xp + concrete + gunpowder and lead for bullets. Mining is so good.

The zombies dig though a mountain to get to you if it is easier to do so so digging less then 10 blocks is something they would totally do.

this game have a lot of problem with how zombie pathing works, like I don't like when I spent all that resources to build a convoluted hallways full of traps but the zombies never go the way the player want. It seem devs want to make zombies artificially intelligent or half intelligent regarding how can do to annoy player. Like the rather hitting the core pillar of your base rather than going to the stairs that's full of traps that you prepared which is annoying as hell.

@@White_Tiger93 Pathing isn't really that difficult. If you want them to take a specific path, you have to make every other path more difficult. The zombies take the path of least resistance most of the time. Depending on the traps you're using, you may be creating more resistance than just beating a support a pillar...

I play with my husband (we play on our Xbox so this may have changed) but I figured out that goldenrod tea was better than drinking water (it hydrates and adds to wellness) and cornbread is the best traveling food (is good for fullness and adds to wellness). Neebs, a good way for you to get ammo would be to make 60-100 snare traps and sell the leather/excess resources to a trader and buy ammo from him. If you know where a desert is there are a lot of banana trees to make animal feed

in the tunnel just make sure to make the ladder start 2 blocks from the ground, this way the zombies won't be able to climb it but you can jump onto it

I like that Dora is making fun of Thick for wanting to crowbar the lock box. Funny thing though that is one the many IRL uses of a crowbar. And yes Thick you can open treasures with crowbars as well as secure lock boxes, and safes. It's also faster than lock picks once your skills are leveled and gives more exp. Appsro if you put down a land claim block you can just pick up the electric fence posts instead of wrenching them. That ending was hilarious.

Once again, Needs proves to be a genius. The most secure defense system I ever put together on 7 Days (older versions) were underground at bedrock. Nothing would spawn there and it took forever for mobs to break the surface, so you could typically reinforce indefinitely if need be. That and water bases bc the system wouldn't spawn mobs at the bottom of lakes, but you had to swim put pretty far to build them and drowning was a problem.

I love making the Higashi building my base. Nerd pole to the top, snipe as many zombies as you can, smack around the remainder, and boom, you have a nice penthouse apartment. Knock out 4 stairs at the top of the staircase and you're golden. Then just put a ladder from the bottom to the top. After placing the claim block, you can clear the rest of the tower at your leisure.

I played a solo game as a hunter. It's insane how good you can get as a hunter. Give Dora a rifle with a silencer, he should have one, and all he's gotta do is put points into rifles, sneak, and hunter. Then he can just go anywhere and clear whole cities by crouching, checking where the zombies are, and headshotting everything from far away
