I just bought the game yesterday to test out win games on Linux. I`m just 4 hrs in the game but for me it`s the most fun since the original Most Wanted. The combination of "Underground" at day, and "Most Wanted" at Night is great. Yeah, the cops are really brutal but as i want to boost my rep i seek out cop chases to boost my Heat level. If the repair tokens were unlimited you could boost your rep too fast. I think it is balanced ok. This is the first time i`m really on my nails, when the cops are after me. Can´t wait to get the first time jailed. Maybe i am lucky that i`m not a native english speaker. To me the dialouge sounds as cheesy as ever. Greetings from Germany.

I think heat is closer to midnight club and nfs prostreet than underground..still a great game. Ghost games had two more cars planned for future dlc which was a Bugatti Chiron and a Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 roadster but it was scrapped

I just bought it yesterday and am enjoying it so far. I just looked this video up because I have only met 3 people in the entire playthrough and was wondering whether people still play this game (can't find races online). As for the voice lines, I didn't mind. Also yeah the cops are bullshit lol. it's frustrating when I'm supposed to already be R23 but I want back to R18. Speaking of NFS rivals yes it did have unlimited repairs but also if I remember correctly heat 10 and would drive in a circle around the repair station to kill most of the cops. Also In rivals playing as cop is kinda weird to me.

I have experience of scaling cops from NFS Undercover. I remember that no matter how fast my Bugatti Veyron or Pagani Zonda F were, the cops would be right beside me trying to pin me down at fucking 400 km/h. And they also have ridiculous turning agility, even if I used my nitro turning exploit, the cops would still be right behind me. It felt like the game forces you to use the environmental hazards to get rid of the chasing cops so you have the space to escape and hide. My point is that the scaling cops feature is shit, there is no point of getting a faster car since the cops will get buffs based on your vehicle's performance...

It’s refreshing hearing someone mention the unfair cops. The only viable way to escape them is using jumps as they for some reason don’t understand how they work. My biggest issue with the cops isn’t that they are too aggressive but rather that you can’t simply outrun them as they will always match you speed no matter how fast you’re going, you can’t take them out either as that will only damage you more and you can’t shake them off by turning at the last second either as they just somehow manages to spawn one right behind you again. It leaves no real way of escaping them and makes you abuse bugs to do so if you don’t get lucky which doesn’t happen too often

i think NFS heat is not really good for the first 48-50 hours.................. it has a lot of problems. First- To purchase a super cool car (dont wanna spoil) requires a crew, and you **NEED** a crew, but now it is really hard to find active crews 2nd- Some cars (offline) are super bumpy, it ruins the entire race, it not really trully rare, but it happens so much, it just gets annoying 3rd- At times if your car goes into the water when you are in a cop chase, you at times get arrested. Some key factors which i found wrong in this video . 1. Multiple races were created for players to try, and to challenge yourself and your skill. If you just repeating the same race with the highest rewards iver and over again, then your way of playing this game is wrong. . 2. The nfs story was always cringe. No matter what era. The cop chatter at night is from corrupt cops. So they made it sounds more rebellious . 3. Cops in this game isn't unfair. You just have a skill issue of escaping them, because you only relying on the ramp to escape them. . Conclusion: never play the same race over and over again. It kinda defeats the purpose on why multiple races were created. Thus who playing it like this will make the same comment like you did in the video.

I know this review is a year old, but the cops seem kinda random in terms of difficulty to me; most people online say that they’re the most frustrating cops even compared to the new game. But for me with a maxed out car at 400+, the cops are a complete pissing contest. But I’ve tested them in the online mode and they are more aggressive compared to single-player mode, I don’t know why they couldn’t make them the same in both modes.

Probably balanced for you not being able to gang up on them and have it too easy by guarding your crew's ass. As far as I've heard, they were nerfed after public whining. Dunno the timeline compared to this review. But many of the online voices are regarding the initial state. And yeah, you have less health and limited repairs compared to the repair cooldown in Unbound. 400+ gonna be easy no matter what. In Unbound top of A+ class (260 ish if I recall correctly) was the cutoff point from where I could reliably get away from heat5, above 350 it's clowning on them time. Only just started Heat, wonder how it will differ.

I got this game october last year only $3 on Steam and it's totally worth! I loved to play this game except the cops thing LOL. Imagine, you've already won the Heat 3 & Heat 5 Race, bringing the part on you, trying to escape cops and enter the safe house. BUT when you think you've already escaped the cops then boom! You busted, LIKE WHATTT Cmon! After all my efforts to win the race and get the part, it's gone in only 10sec. Horrible :(((

The cops is the reason why I will not try it. I really wish the cops where like in most wanted. They should try to ram you and get you stuck to catch you. That is the most fun system. You do not want to just run from cops, but also ram them and so on. Crash down big donuts to crush them as they are trying to catch you and so on.

But even though it is old, there are lots of people who still did not play it, so they will do what you and I did when the game released (play it for a while and never play it again). very late, 2024. I got the game on the sale. I guess a couple of things I disagree on: 1. the story is cringe, but well, so is most of NFS stories. You're talking about some losers in wifebeaters driving around in cars going, "tHiS cIty BeLoNgS tO Us" in every iteration of the game. The cops are supposed to match that level of cringe, and quite frankly, there *are* real-world cops who think like that. Consider yourself lucky you don't meet those abusive pos. 2. the cop chatter on the radio is *entertaining*, if not realistic. And for a game, I seriously doubt people would enjoy the commonplace chatter rather than cops acting like they are wannabe racers. That has been the whole point of NFS Hot Pursuit-type games. 3. the "bug" of getting on a container to escape...it's not a bug it's a feature lol. I think that was intentional. This game encourages people to jump off of ramps as much as possible. If you do it right, there's even a "camera switch" and they show you making the jump in a slightly cinematic way (kind of redolent of MW). And in any case, the moment you get off the container/get to the other side sometimes, the cops are *still there* - especially at Heat 4 or 5. 4. I HATED the limitation on repairs (at Night). But I think that's intentional too: kind of emulating the situation that you're an illegal racer on the streets, how would you have so many chances to willy-nilly keep repairing your car ad infinitum? Contrast that to day-time, when you have UNLIMITED repairs, because those races are sanctioned/legal. To add to the urgency. But I still HATE it, especially when they don't allow you repairs when you are at Heat 5 Pursuit. Even if you had some repairs left, it just deactivates at that level. I had to make my peace with getting the Repair Kit installed in Auxiliary. And have a 400+ car. I do wish they allowed us way more "hidespots", like in NFS MW, where you could hide (not go back to garage, but just hide) convincingly. NFS Heat had its issues, but it got way to much hate for it. This was EA at least trying to mend things and do something right. Let's just hope that the fan hate doesn't make a mess out of it, like the shitshow that was reaction to MW 2019, leading to the mess of MW II and MW III.
