You've seen people do it. You've probably even tried it. But have you ever wondered how to do it properly?
Whilst not as new-school as holding up fingers whilst straddling a line, plumb bobbing can be every bit as effective, if you follow all the steps. From all the videos we've seen, everyone misses a crucial step (except Kippa).

But how do I know exactly where to stand behind the ball? Do I try to line the shaft up with the cup first? Both eyes open?

Reply from Kippa: Use dominant eye only, stand in a straight line directly behind the ball to the hole, raise the putter up to cover half the ball on either side and the break will be revealed.

You can if you need to or to double-check, but we're all for speeding up the game. If you have to, maybe do it while others are putting.
