"This type of music is perfect for her." Yep, I agree. It's tough to pick just one sweet spot for Angelina because she's so versatile, but yeah this original is very, very Angelina. And I totally appreciate how you guys verbally worked through the whole minefield of describing her sound relative to female superstars like Adele, Amy, Christina, etcetera. I think it's totally natural for new-ish fans to describe Angelina's sound using what's in their experience. You guys did it right. Angels just tend to bristle when someone says Angelina's mimicking or copying Amy or whoever. Soon, Angelina will be the benchmark ("Oh, this new, young singer sounds a little like Angelina.")

I totally agree. It’s fine for reactors or people new to Angelina to maybe compare her to artists they are familiar with. It bugs me though when people diss her for “imitating” another artist and telling her to find her own sound, even directly to her on her own Instagram. Some have said that she is an Amy Winehouse wannabe.They aren’t being fair to Angelina. She has her own sound if they are willing to really listen. As you said, someday people will say that a new artist sounds like Angelina.

THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER NEW ONE one out that is a cover of Lauren Daigle's "You Say". The only place I have seen it is on the "Angelina Jordan Archives" YT Page. There is audio that's easy to find but this is the actual video. I guess it was from a a Christmas special from 2021. It's pretty damned good.

Something else you should take note of is that Angelina said, in an interview she gave Nadia Neophytou, 'I have to say if it wasn't for the unconditional love that came from the legendary music of Billie Holiday, THERE WOULD NOT BE ANGELINA JORDAN TODAY'. She's heard all the 'greats' but only Billie is placed by her at the top of the musical pedestal.

This is an old form of jazz that goes back to the 30's & 40's called 'Swing'. My mom would go to Roseland Ballroom on Saturday nights to dance and listen to 'The Big Bands' that played there. When the main orchestra took a break from 'Swing', in the 'up tempo' they were known for, a female soloist would take the stage and sing 'slowed down' versions of 'Swing', accompanied by only a few musicians. This is what Angelina is emulating here and I bet her Grandmother Mery Zamani was involved in her learning about this form of jazz, for she loves the genre as much as her granddaughter.

I am a Adele fan for many years but at 12 Angelina already sound better than Adele when she did covers of Adele and also of some of the great singers of our time . Her latest covers of Adele is even better than when she was younger. That is not only my opinion but also of many voice coaches and other reactors. Amy would have been proud if she has the richness and soul full voice of Angelina.

Great reaction. This song was her 5th released original (2021). She was 15. Angelina’s upcoming EP will contain 5 more originals. She tease one of the songs recently. Angelina has said that she has been writing songs her whole life but wasn’t ready to present them. My feeling is that most if not all new material will be originals. She may still do some covers occasionally. She still does short covers on Tik Tok.

However, when you hear her sing, you can immediately recognize it's Angelina's voice. If you ever want to see there a few great Mash up duets she has out there, with the original artist (who all sound differently) and Angelina sounds like them, and herself... it crazy (im going to leave a mash up recently that from "Lauran Daigle" "You Say". Its an amazing song and a great mash-up. To me it's crazy how many great artist are in that "melting Pot" of Angelina's voice.
