It was great to see the whole crew yesterday! I watched yesterday and started my wings. I couldn't understand why I had so much fiber on the back of my wings and you didn't. So, I watched again today and I think my problem is that I am using too much fiber. You said the wool should just sit on the top.(My take away)! So when I do my next set of wings I will pay more attention to this. You asked about future tutorials. In the "Pancake" wet felting tutorial you showed examples of prefelt using resist and silk gauze. I would love to learn this technique. Thank you for making Wednesday afternoons so much fun, especially now when we really need it. Be safe everyone!!! judy

That was a fabulous Wooly Wednesday!! My take away was definitely the adding wings to the Waldorf dolls. Mu mind is racing and I need to make some! I need to get more colors in my MC1 collection. My other take away was using the wool sheet to start and not use core to make a wing. I am making a mermaid Waldorf doll and was having such a hard time with the fin. Now I know how to go about making a nice one!! Just like the no-problama!! Make 2 fins and glue them together and add a decorative edge! Thank you so much for your wonderful ideas and inspiration!❤❤❤

I didn’t catch you live this week but I am watching the replay and making the butterfly now (nearly finished). I must admit, I took away 2 #Takeaways from the video which have improved my work immensely! 1) You introduced me the right method of making thin border outlines using wool batts like those on the wings; now I know that I needed to pull my wool as I go and stab it. It is tricky because my wool ends up breaking/tearing off as I pull sometimes but I am getting the hang of it with this practice 👍🤗 Question though; how can I make thin border outlines using my longer staple (roving) wool? I have merino for example that I struggle to felt in a straight thin line 🤔 it works for me but I don’t have a regular technique that I can guarantee to work yet, sadly. And for takeaway 2) I loved the point about 42 needle! For my first few projects that I made recently, I had my work bond so badly to my foam pad which is a nightmare but now that I did my whole project using the old 42 needle I own (which I never ever considered using before, but it worked in my favour because this is the only needle I own at the moment anyway, in fact, I dug deep in my stuff and hard to find it 😂), it made such a great difference! I can’t recommend it enough! I can’t believe how smooth the backside of my work is! 😍😍 I am also lifting my butterfly every now and then so I make sure it doesn’t bond the slightest bit! Long comment, sorry 😅 but THANK YOU for those 2 tips! Stay safe fairies and Marie!

Hello my wonderful new friends! I received my mixed media supplies the other day!! So excited. Started my Mixed Media Art yesterday. Had to rewet it this morning, I don't believe I felted it enough. It is now drying so I can cut it up...can't wait. One quick question, I am having trouble rolling because my towel and bubble wrap keep moving and sliding. I'm working on my island in my kitchen which has a granite counter top. Any suggestions? Thank you ladies, waiting for the new show today :)
@LivingFelt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Angela! So fun! :) Oh yes, we meant to make a suggestion yesterday...and Marie may have mentioned it in this video. She likes to put a cut of rubber shelf liner under her towel...it really helps! Wishing you loads of fun! :)

I missed the live version but I am so glad to have caught up on this video. Thank you for sharing. I'd like to add that if a person needs to use the subtitle due to hearing loss, when you show details/felt at the bottom of the screen, it is hidden by the subtitle bar. If it is possible to show the felting details closer to the middle or upper portion of the screen .. thx for considering

I look forward to trying this project. I appreciate how you break down what seems complicated into simpler doable steps. For future video, I would be interested in how you would use your LF products to make a large item such as a rug or large wall hanging. What could be used to give it more strength? Do you do anything differently to keep the shape of a circle, square/rectangle, etc with a large piece? Would you approach the felting process differently or is it the same just a larger piece? Also, a general question-how to retain maximum color when wet felting?

My take away was how to make a thin line with MC1. I’m struggling with this and now I understand what I was doing wrong. I was doing yard work during the broadcast so I watched tonight. It was the first day of 70 degrees in 196 days and we are forecasted to get rain the next 3 days so I had to get the leaves off the flower beds. Thank you for providing some sanity for these quarantine days.
