Batman doesn't let his Robins dress in bright colours to attract attention . he let Richard Grayson dress in bright colours because those were the colours of the flying Graysons and Batman let Richard wear these colours to honour his parents , as for why he lets the other Robins where bright colours , well he gives them a choice of what colours they want and they choose to classic Robin colours because Richard Grayson made them iconic for the mantle of Robin .

I would say Batman's coldness depends on the continuity. I'm reminded of the Justice League unlimited episode where he comforts a dying child. It's a touching moment and indicative that his heroism isn't just taking down villains. Obviously some writers will use Batman differently in a story to contrast him with other characters. A lot of Nightwing stories are like this. They'll show Batman as a very cold and calculating character to contrast him with Nightwing, who's known to be very jubilant, high-energy, and compassionate. Nothing wrong with adapting a character differently depending on the medium, but it definitely hurts the idea that there's just one version of Batman instead of the dozens of adaptations we've gotten.

I believe that episode was "Epilogue", which served as an official closing to Batman Beyond and was originally meant to be the series finale to Justice League Unlimited. But yes, I do remember that episode well, especially for how it showed why the DCAU version of Batman was the definitive one for so many fans. While Batman is cold and seemingly lacking in humanity, this showed that he is the most human out of all the heroes, something that Amanda Waller saw. My second favorite is a scene in Young Justice when the Justice League is voting on new members and Wonder Woman calls out Batman for bringing Dick Grayson into the crime fighting world, which Batman has the best line: Wonder Woman: "So that he could turn out like you?" Batman: "So that he wouldn't."

Yeah they mostly do it with Red hood ones Now don't hate Red hood or his motivation I understand where he comes from But what I dislike is those specific Red hood fans whose sole argument is bashing Batman's no kill ideology Like boy Red Hood only work as a contrast to Batman cause of the no kill rule Otherwise presenting a Red Hood without Batman as a contrast is very difficult to make and writers tend to make him more edgy to compensate when Batman isn't in the picture Red Hood over time came to realise he is wrong in what he is doing but he knows somebody has to do what Batman doesn't do Just like how Batman's does his crusade cause he knows that somebody has to do it Also the reason Red hood doesn't go insane or bloodthirsty is because he knows what he does is wrong (the method) but that somebody's gotta do it which is somewhat of a sacrifice in itself If Batman starts to kill along with his immense fear in both criminals and people (due to media's portrayal of him) Gotham's police would give their 100% to subdue or most likely kill him although they wouldn't be successful but still he would be on the highest priority to be caught or eliminated Not to mention then all the corrupted individuals and assassins would be hired alongside to end him as well While Red Hood isn't exactly feared like he would kill/end you but not exactly feared like Batman So Even if he kills criminals he isn't prioritised and left off by the police cause he only kills criminals whom to Red hood seems unforgivable/who can't change for the better in his eyes So yeah if Red hood does it , the most worried person about him is Batman cause he knows what he is doing and how he is feeling and giving in to his vengeance Which Batman has to deal with daily basis Not to mention what it can do to Red hood mentally/emotionally even if it's for the good he thinks is correct But if Batman does it Everyone would lose their sh#t and would try their hardest to stop him/end him

@@violet7092 I don't understand how it can be fanon when it's literally an official DC project. I would understand people calling it fanon if it were just a fan project, but it is a legitimate work by DC writers and artists. The story is set in a different universe. There are numerous universes where the batfamily are their usual serious selves. Just because it is a webtoon or the fact the batfamily are acting happy does not make it any less canon
@monicaavgust7625

@@maramarie17 Probably, the creators do not want to grieve the old fans the way they did with the creators of "Ultimate Spider-Man". In this animated series, Spidey had dozens of friends, Avengers mentors, protection in S.H.I.E.L.D., and even a brother. But fans declared this cartoon an outrage against the canon, because Spidey is happy there and hasn’t lost anyone since Uncle Ben. People are simply afraid to take risks... That’s why people from DC, tired of writing about martyrs, became so secretive. So that haters don't come near them. What is allowed to the fans is not allowed to the creators. But who says a creator can't be a fan?😂

Batman show’s his affection differently, even with Catwoman ,who he canonically loves, he’s not all that expressive and instead shows his love by his willingness to protect others. He’s the kind of person who doesn’t care about what others think of him, he only wants people to be safe and protected. The way he does this is by giving his children the tools they need to be successful in life. He really does care but sometimes his logic can cause him to overlook emotions and mental health especially his own. I like to think that there where more sweet moments with him and his family we just don’t see it because it doesn’t have anything to do with the plot. ^^

Bruce: well Damien and Tim probably will never actually get along they more tolerate eachother. Jason is the rebellious one he usually does the opposite of what you tell him and Dick Is the peace keeper but sometimes even he has to get rough Damien will never admit he can't beat him in a fight even though being smaller by a decent amount Damien will still lose the fight. Media: that sounds like a mad house Bruce: I'm amazed the house is still standing actually Media: So who's the favorite ? Bruce: fine my oldest son is he's the least rebellious, he doesn't go to a dinner party packing knives and is a good problem solver All 4 boys watch the interview Damien: I totally called it not exactly a secret Jason: hey bet I'm second favorite I'm 2nd oldest Tim: his logic is sound but not yours Jason Dick: yup I'm the oldest and best of the bunch Damien Jason and Tim dogpile on Dick and the furniture starts falling as the 4 wrestle

Most people seem to forget that Jason was quite a bright kid, cannonically, he is smarter than Dick, but less smarter than Tim or Damian. Even as Red Hood he was quite the clever, strategic, ahead planning, cunning, manipulative guy. Somehow the internet made him into just a reckless gun-blazing idiot. Now, there's a twist #2. Now the BTAS has a Jason Todd/Red Hood, but he is just an other guy with someone's name slapped on him. He only has Jason's violent tendencies but in such extreme ways he is overdoing Red Hood's. But, I guess, that what you get when you already have a Jason Todd, who does not stand out.

I say that there are more moments that show bruce Wayne does care about his children in the WEBTOON batman Wayne family adventures, for example he gets a moment where he acknowledges that he spends too much time crime fighting and misses Cassandra’s ballet show. He promptly asks Alfred for advice and apologizes to Cassandra about it
@jeramahia123

YES!!! Loved that so so much. Mostly because it's clear that Cassie was never even upset with Bruce. She understands why he couldn't make it. After all, out of all his children, Cassandra is the only one whose drive and dedication to protecting people rivals his own. She'd never blame him for choosing to save lives over watching her ballet performance. She was more worried about Bruce feeling bad about the whole thing.

I'd also mention Red Robin #17 when the newly reinstated Batman teases Tim about having his own Selena Kyle, takes off his cowl so he can hug his son and see his face, and convinces him to patrol with him so they could "have some fun", just Batman and his Robin, like old times. I loved that scene.

My favorite version of the Bat Family is the newish WEBTOON, Batman: Wayne Family Adventures. In it we get to see not only the kids being siblings, but Batman also doing his best to be a good father to his five plus kids. My favorite moment was when he missed Casandra’s ballet recital, and is tempted to mope and avoid her, but after a little encouragement from Alfred, he apologizes, says that he can’t be perfect but he can and will do better because she is important to him, and proceeds to rent out the w tire theater just so he could watch her performance.

I think these kind of moments are incredibly important to Batman as a character. Personally, there are several parts 1) in the comics, Damian just moves in and yet has a hard time controlling himself to not kill so Bruce gets on his case. While Damian is using the training equipment, Bruce confesses to Alfred his fear of failing Damian (Alfred also shows himself to be a good father figure by reminding Bruce that he's to be a father to Damian, not mechanic) 2) Same issue, Bruce sees Damian's sketch book where it's showing him killing various villians in brutal ways and he realizes how much rage Damian was holding in and vowed to not fail his son. 3) Ending of said issue, Damian and Bruce just playing catch with Titus before the batsignal goes up 4) Bruce telling Damian he's proud of him and them hugging. And this might not count but when Bruce is chasing Ras who has Damian and Talia's bodies. He's banging on Ras' window pane to his jet while screaming "Give me back my son!"

Dick is his golden child. The one he is always proud of. Though people tend to say Dick is the favourite, I think it's actually Jason who is the real favourite child. Batman has a no-kill rule for himself and his children which Jason constantly breaks but he gets forgiven all the time. Plus out of all the batkids, he's the one to call him dad whether serious or in a joking manner. (Damian may call him father but when Bruce is not around the little gremlin addresses him by first name) Damian is his biological child but he's more emotionally attached to Dick and Alfred because they were the first ones to welcome and show him kindness. Hence when Alfred died he went back to his old ways and eventually left the family.

I think in a weird way, Batman knows exactly how “bad” he is as a father, and it’s intentional. Bruce is a messed up individual, one he’s stated in the past nobody should model themselves after. He wants to give these kids the best life he can, and so he thinks the best thing to do is to stay out of it. He knows the kids that come through his life turn out right (except Jason which he has still not forgiven himself for), and he understands if he really let them in a lot of bad things could happen. They might realize that the Batman, the hero they look up to as a father, is a miserable wreck. They might lose faith in humanity, seeing that their scarred, broken father has to continue to fight every day to keep an ungrateful public safe. Batman gives them everything they need that he thinks he cannot provide. He knows Alfred is what allowed him to heal to the extent he has, even if he knows at heart he’s still far from healthy. He knows that for many of his wards a routine of exercise, mental training, and engineering will leave them stronger and safer than anyone else in Gotham as well as anywhere else in the world. While the Robin’s certainly do get their asses handed to them from time to time, Batman when in control always is either there as a safety net or has determined (usually correctly as the world’s greatest detective) that the Robins will be capable of completing the mission. The other big part of Batman that we all need to remember is that he might be terrible with people socially but he can read anyone like a book. If Batman genuinely thought a Robin needed to stop, he’d step in. As well, when Batman sees it necessary to connect and show in a more traditional manner to a Robin that he cares about them more than himself, he does. He’s not beyond doing so, and we know for a fact that he’s capable of playing any part due to his identity as Bruce Wayne. Batman likely could at any time fake being a helicopter papa, but I think the fact he doesn’t is almost more powerful in a way, as he doesn’t hide who he is from his children. Overall, I don’t know if I’d call Batman a bad dad. In a traditional western sense, he’s not too engaged externally with his kids often, but internally I think he wants to keep a degree of separation, not for himself, but for his sons and daughters. Batman is a guy who gets the shit kicked out him regularly, has to disappear into different worlds and dimensions for months at a time, and has a tendency to find himself in a constant state of struggle. Would any father want his kids to live through that, or idolize that behavior? There are options Batman could take to remedy this, but in doing so he leaves the city his children live in, and countless other children, in a more dangerous situation. I think Batman is the best dad he can be in this situation, and while that’s not always enough, nothing ever is.

My favorite father moment had to be from Batman and Robin issue 40. If I remember correctly, it's some time after Robin supposedly died, and Batman had to go through hell(Apocalypse) to get him back. After he is revived, Damian goes through several stages of recovery, even getting superpowers. In issue 40, Damian losses his powers, and is finally himself again. At the end of the issue, we get this cool shot of the dynamic duo flying over Gotham. But the best part is when Damian turns and sees Batman is smiling again.
