slimjimandpepsi It's not a forced induction, so forward or backward doesn't make that much difference. Also it keeps stuff from inside the boat out. Years ago, somehow a small potato chip bag found it's way into ours. From that moment on the scoop was always run backwards.

Also seems the K-Boat guys run 'em to the front and drag style boats run 'em backwards. Just an observation.
