I still like the idea that Mayuri was cruel enough to not finish him off. Soon enough Szay would want to die soo bad. For thousands of years he would have begged in his mind for that sword to finally kill him. But then, just that tiny, tiny bit off... Mayuri snaps the sword... That would just be so devastatingly cruel... Not to mention, he would probably be dragged off to be experimented on after that as well.

You've got it all wrong. Mayuri does care about Nemu, in his own twisted way. He literally calls her his greatest creation. So when she fails at something I think he takes it very personally as if he himself failed, and as a result gets mad and takes his anger out on her. Its like a really weird and toxic relationship for sure. Mayuri is still a sadistic psycho.

Aizen has confirmed this to Ulquiorra when she demonstrated her ability to restore Grimmjow's arm. There seems to be some things that she is unable to negate, such as her having difficulty with healing Ichigo's fatal wound in the chest inflicted by Ulquiorra because of his dark hollow reiatsu. So, I think it's theorized that there are some things that Orihime can't reject.

I still head canon that Mayuri did not actually kill the guy, but instead snapped his blade just before the blade ended him. Imagine, after thousands of years to you, you will finally get to die. You would have gone so tired and dull from it all that you want nothing for this horrific experience to end. But then you see the blade snap... You scream in your mind. "NOOOOO, NOOO!" As you watch the people around you leave you there. House on hours later, random hollows start to sniff around, and if you are lucky, one of them decides to try eating you alive.

I do have a genuine query though... Even if his perception is slow his bodily functions are still moving real time. So that means he will still die when stabbed through the heart because his brain will stop receiving oxygen. @@berumoddo4036 everything that is important. If we go chronologically... It started with the 5 Noble Ancestors in the Primordial Universe before the Living realm and Soul Society were even created. The 5n Ancestor cut the Soul King into pieces and used him to create the universes we have today and then used his body to hold the multiverse in shape for eternity. They did all this when the Soul King was a chill dude that even accepted their conditions to create the multiverse. The 5 great noble families (Kuchiki, Shihōin, Shiba, Tsunayashiro and 1 other) are their descendents and most of them are still into big BS like corruption even today. For example, Tosen's friend that he talked about that died, was the Wife of the current Leader of the Tsunayashiro great noble family. She died because that guy is a total psycho. (Aizen actually did a good deed by killing the old central 46 xD. Though they got replaced shortly after by yet another 46 corrupt nobles). As for the Gotei 13, it was formed by Yamamoto placing together a bunch of the worst criminals he could find. They even massacred the quincy despite having smart enough people to create solutions. And worse of all... they were being hypocrites with the quincy genocide... since each time a captian dies, they send his soul to hell, which eventually will break the balance that they were preaching about. Basically psychopathic, hypocrite and corrupt to the bottom beings. Sure, currently the gotei 13 is much better than before, but the nobles and gotei 46 sent the Shiba family outside of Sereitei (the only of the 5 families that isnt that corrupt. The Ancestor was also the only one of the 5 that was opposite to using the soul King and even offered himself in his place). So I would say only the gotei 13 got a little better, the nobles and central 46 still corrupt as hell and now sereitei doesn't even have Shiba family, which I would say makes them even more corrupt.

Ultimately justice is a sham, both sides have compelling reasons for existing and fighting, but ultimately, if the Humans have protection, the right to consume is dependent on whether you are strong enough to defeat their protectors.
