Neenah Solar White vs Blending Card for Copic Markers

In my Copic art class we use X-Press It and I like it better than Neenah. I use both but Neenah seems to drag and absorb too much ink where X-Press It blends colors smoothly and I find uses less ink.

I agree with you. I like the look of the Neenah better although the other is ok. Thanks for sharing this comparison. Always helps when you need to replace a product to know the difference or how they react compared to each other. TFS

I sure see teals on the blending card. After you colored the dinosaur's back, on this end I saw the green breaking down to aqua. The little fins on his back also look deep teal to me on my laptop whereas the one on Neenah looks like YG colors. Wow, what a difference. Thank you!

Really helpful. I like that the Neenah retains the colour. I can get Neenah fortunately in the UK.

Thanks for the comparison - not used the X-Press It Blending paper, but I don't always have Neenah 80 or 110 to use, so I get a lower quality of paper and - as you said, the way it reacts to copic markers or to color pencils does vary some. Makes me feel better just to know that - that's the way it is, and it's ok! :)

Thanks for the comparison. I’ve never tried Blend-It but have wondered. I think I will stick with my Neehan because I am happy with it, but it was fun to see a side by side comparison.

In my first (and only) in-person class we used X-Press It Blending Card. It's so much what we're used to! Blending is easier/slicker for me on X-Press It, and colors look softer.. Neenah has more drag (less slick) and for how I blend, colors are more difficult to blend and a little darker/muddier (due to my lack of good technique!).

Yes. Neenah Classic Crest is my go-to for stamping and to some extent, colored pencil, just not Copies.

Sandy this was a very interesting video tutorial with the comparison of the different paper with the Copic Markers. I found myself watching each of your pen strokes to see if the papers reacted differently but I think it was only the colour that was the real difference for me. Do you think it would react differently using a different type of alcohol marker such as Spectrum Noirs? Thank you for sharing this with us crafters. :O)

Sandy, this was very helpful, thank you so much for sharing your insight!! I use the 80 Neenah cardstock but never the 110. Do you think the 80lb or 110lb is "better" for stamping with copics? What is the major difference and is there a difference in blending? Would love your advice, thank you!

I find the 110 harder to work with. It’s thicker and some like it since it doesn’t go thru the back as much-but I find the color sits on the surface and looks rather than blending as much.
