Since his win in Tokyo. We have had at least 3-4 Javelin athletes from India throwing 84+. There were 3 Indians in top 6 at the world championships last year. And Kishore Jena threw 87+ meters to take home the Asian games silver completing the Indian one-two at the javelin throw event with Chopra.

The only reason why he became famous is not because he is good. It is because he is the only ONE out the TWO Olympic Gold Medalists of India that has won Olympic Gold based on individual merit. India has only 10 olympic Gold medalists out of a population of 1.42+ billion and 8 of them are from Hockey games based on team merit/effort and the remaining 2 is based on individual merits. 🤭
