Neat. I've done forced patina with apple cider vinegar vapor. Place the copper in a a container on top of a screen and pour the vinegar in the bottom. Seal it and come back in a few days and it's beautifully blue.

Hey man. Just a fyi. It will work better if you soak the towels and put a platform in the middle. I made one from cardboard or whatever will hold the blades. Suspend the scales face up on the platform in the middle of the bowl and spray the scales with ammonia also. Then put the salt directly on the scales. You also can decide where you want the blue doing that also. And can even make some cool patterns. Just makes sure to reapply salt once it melts and respray every few hours. It works great.

You come a long way with customization since the start of the channel. I remember telling you how to heat anodize and you did you still 0450 and I believe a couple kubys too. Great work jer just remember though doing this you need baking soda water to neutralize your patina mixture of not you will get blistering and pin holes in your clear coat. You can actually see it at the end of this video when you do the little b-roll brother. Other than that killer work

Definitely had some off gassing or some sort of reaction still happening. Probably would want to soak in baking soda water for a bit then a really good dry cycle with good airflow before clear coating. Also, when clear coating, be as continuous and fluid with your spray pattern, just like you would with any other rattle can. You can clearly see how uneven and matte looking the clear coat is at the end. Also, never hurts to apply a couple coats of clear then fine sand and polish to get it super smooth and clear, helps the clear coat last longer and prevents any uneven weathering.

If your going to do this watch some other videos first because there’s about 10 different combinations you can use and they all make different hues of blues and greens, and all make it patina in different patterns. You can also do this with diff ingredients to get reds, oranges, and even pink hues. They will All make different results on the final product.
