One really big thank you Graham, Well produced and edited video with no annoying music, tutorial for the product. You have made a poorly translated eight page manual obsolete. Hope you won't mind if at some point when I have more time, you will be agreeable to me for my use to transcribe your video so that I can have a better form of manual to hand in my bag. Again thank you.

Graham, thanks so much for this video. I just bought the Neewer FC-16, one trigger and two receivers. I thought I'd use one receiver to trigger the camera and one receiver to trigger the flash. Unfortunately, because I'm stupid, I forgot that the camera trigger and the flash trigger work on different buttons. and so now I can either fire my camera or I can fire my flash. Is there a way to do both? thanks.

Hi Graham, many thanks for the helpful video. If I were to attach the transmitter to my hotshoe, and a flash on the transmitter, how would I trigger (via radio) both my on camera flash, as well as one on a receiver? I tried attaching a flash directly onto my hot shoe, with the transmitter connected to the flash via PC sync. These seems to work but only intermittently!

Hi! Really useful video! I'm having trouble getting my flashes to fire properly with these receivers, I have both of them set up off camera, and I'm using the neewer receivers to fire them. When I'm using the test button on teh receiver both speedlites fire correctly, but when I'm pressing the shutter, only one of them does. Any idea on how to best fix this? Hi Graham, I have the Nikon D500. Am I correct that the Neewer FC-16 will not work as a remote shutter release? The PC sync port seems to work only as a flash trigger. I'm using a Canon 60D with the Neewer NW-562 Speedlight. The flash works great when mounted directly to the camera's hot shoe, but I'm having trouble using it wirelessly with the Neewer FC-16 transmitter and receiver. Under the "flash control" settings, the camera recognizes that an external flash is attached, but says it's "incompatible or turned off." Both are set to "flash" with green lights blinking, and "1, 2, 3, and 3" are all switched to "on." Perhaps I'm missing something? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! :)

To me the best way to go is Godox v850 with their trigger FT-16s - very reasonably priced - but 2 main super super advantages - first it has lithium Ion battery good for over 500-1000 shoots - and recycle time is amazing - at half power for example there is no sync time you can just shoot and shoot - for full power it is about 1.5 second - so just so so nice compared with AA batteries that have slow sync or recycle flash time and do not last long - Second thing is the trigger as an LCD and you can control the flash output strength remotely without having to go to flash an changing manually - so practical if one has flash say on a tripod/stand many meters away - it supports multiple flashes so it has groups and of course multi freq. I have a Canon 430 - Bolt - Olympus - and Nikon flashes - all using AA - I just totally have now put them a side - the Godox is quite powerful although my Bolt is a bit more powerful - but the Godox is plenty - just so awesome to have no recycling time and to have say 2 flashes at half power say and the third at 1/8th - all adjustable from trigger on camera without having to move at all - just select group and adjust - Just totally sold on the Godox V850 - the V600 I believe it is called has TTL for Canon - but I do not have Canon bodies anymore so the 850 is fine the Godox is really also NEEWER TT850 - and can be found on Amazon and Ebay and Aliexpress to name some - I use mostly Panasonic GX7's - LX100 - Sony A6000 - Sony A7 - Olympus OMD-EM1/5 and the flashes work just perfectly - No more hassle with endless AA batteries - and long recycle times - ability to control flashes remotely as well and quite powerful - there is TTL with Canon so great for Canon users of course - but I typically always use manual anyway - So will Graham get the G7? looks nice and practical - for those who do not have the GH4 or LX100 with 4K

+igetsmart , I have the same Godox/Neewer TT850 as yours. I don't have the FT-16 yet. Since they work on 433Mz, have you had problems with interference when using at a venue? Also, can you remotely adjust the zoom using the FT-16?

May I know what triggers you are using for the Sony A6000 and A7 for off-camera flash? And for on-camera flash, does the Ving 850 work on the hot shoe of the Sonys?
@jonhermannsson92319 жыл бұрын
+Ike Cantle Most of the time I use my Godox v850 flashes - they have a Godox trigger - it connects right on the flash and is small - the nice thing is that you can control the flashes remotely or from the transmitter - you just select Flash A for example and adjust it - then select Flash B and adjust it - without having to move - and you can control a whole bunch - and of course you can select freq. The real real nice thing and main reason I use these is the Battery - no more AA batteries which are so slow in re-cycling and do not last long - the battery in the Godox V850 is awesome - good for 500-1000 shots pending on power output - and say 1/2 power there is really now re-cycle time - just ready again - for full power it is less then a second - Of course they are not TTL - and in reality TTL is not all that practical - yes sometimes but most of the time not - I do have some Olympus flashes - they have a builtin trigger via Flash - so only good for line of sight - but TTL - I really like the Godox v850 flashes - not expensive yet powerful - awesome battery/batterylife and wireless transmitter/receiver is not expensive - Not perfect - the receiver could be better built - but for most use good - www.amazon.com/Godox-Flash-Pioneering-Li-ion-Speedlite/dp/B00I0OD55U

Shawn Oliveira you have to use to sets of ft16 because you need the other transmitter on the camera hotshoe set to another channel say channel 16 to trigger the flash an channel 15 on the other ft16 used to trigger the camera

I am having trouble with my trigger. I have a t5i and a nw680 flash. The flash works perfectly on the hot shoe of my camera. Off camera with the triggers it always fires but it is never in sync. I am shooting in manual mode on my camera at aperture 5.6 iso 400 and shutter speed 1/60 and I see nothing the image is dark as if it got none of the flash however I know the flash is in fact firing. I feel like the flash fires before my shutter fires although it is hard to tell. I have the flash set to manual mode at 1/1 so it should be pretty bright. Any ideas?
@GrahamHoughton127 жыл бұрын
check that the t5i isn't set to use TTL flash mode as this will fire the gun on the pre-flash and it won't fire again on the main flash pulse. Set the flash to manual mode.
@SimerDown7 жыл бұрын
I have a T5I and I’m having the same problem 🤷🏽♀️
@Jelmister7 жыл бұрын
My t5i is set to manual flash mode when the flash is off camera. The flash works fine in ettl mode when connected directly to the hot shoe of the camera. The issue is when on the trigger it’s as if my shutter opens after the flash triggers. My shutter speed is at 1/60 so it shouldn’t be a sync speed issue and I put the flash at 1/1 in manual mode just to try to get any light at all and nothing. It’s as if my camera waits for the flash to flash and then opens the shutter.
@GrahamHoughton127 жыл бұрын
I can't suggest any other reason, but the neewer site doesn't claim compatibility with the t5i camera for some reason
@satkins157 жыл бұрын
Maybe the shutter speeds are faster than 200 which won’t allow you to get the proper flash exposure. An Nd filter can help when shooting in the daytime and using flash you can get slower shutter speeds. Hope this helps
