I think you need to push down on where the slots are while inserting it, no need to take the phone out of the cage. 1. Insert to slot 2. Push down on the 2 sides where the slots are (suing both thumbs) 3. Push down (using index finger)

Not sure what you meant by this but this is a specially designed cage to attach filters and lenses and other peripherals for vlogging. This is also not for everyone, this will only make sense for Photographers and Vloggers/Content creators... If you're using yours casually you surely won't need this.
