Now that I'm rigging out my a6400 it would be nice to have one battery for everything. Glad to see Neewer getting into the battery market

Great review…for me, the just getting started filmmaker on a budget, this battery lands where I need it, price point wise. Now it’s just listening to these great reviews and hitting the “buy” button! Thanks!

I've got 2 of these, trying to work out how best to utilise them. I've found a couple of problems. Tried using the 8V output for one particular camera - NX100 - as a backup to a normal battery. i.e. Normal Sony NPF970 will do at least 3-4hrs, but is Cold out at the moment, so use time has the potential to be diminished. Where the 2nd problem is if the Camera cuts out, then the Live-Stream device loses it's s*** and may not always reconnect to the RTMP. So if the operator has to Change the battery it could be a problem. So I figured I could cut an Old Sony Charger cable (the 8.4v ones) - got an appropriate 2.1mm DC barrel, wired it up - it will power the camera but not 100% - which is strange, because on Battery the camera will go as low as 6v before turning off... or 6.5v Anyway. if I have the battery in, and Power chord connected, coming out of the NEEWER the Percentage bar on the LCD flickers like it is switching in between Power and Battery. Unplug battery and it turns off, whereas if that was a Full AC power plug going in, it would keep operating. Next I tried instead with a DTAP to NPF Battery replacement adaptor. (firstly having to shave down this, and another DTAP adaptor, because the NEEWER socket is not quite Correct.) Anyway - rather than to the Camera for this adaptor, I ran it to my Atomos Recorder. it was showing 8V, or perhaps 7.8V - yet the Atomos was preferring to take from another Battery. Again, I removed the Battery and even here the Atomos turned off. I turned it back on, and it worked fine recording for 5 minutes, then turned off. Same thing happened again. SO - do these units have some sort of Auto Shut off for DTAP? I ran a different DTAP line to a different ATOMOS which goes straight to it's POWER DC plug, and that seemed to work fine, although truth be told, I think it used More power than expected and ran the NEEWER 99Wh unit to almost flat in the same time it would normally run on 1 NPF970... Any thoughts ? Also if I could just note... was anyone else slightly triggered by the Tripod wobbling all over the place... is that on a Dolly or something?

One annoyance I have found with this battery, is I power my ninja monitor from the usb C, and keep the usb c connected then turn on the battery, the power is not supplied, even when power button pressed on my ninja. so I have to unplug the usb c and then plug in again to activate power supply to the usb c socket as once there is no draw on the usb socket it automatically stops the supply after a short delay. this is going to put a LOT of wear on the socket, in and out every time I use the Atomos. I have ordered a barrel plug version of the power cable, but that also my perform the same way. does anyone have a fix for this? I would have thought when I pressed the battery on button it would send power to the usb, or when the ninja button was pressed the battery would sense that and send the power. its annoying as hell. do all v mount batteries have an auto set off power to the plugs if nor draw on the cables? or am I missing something?

Press the power button on the battery instead of unplugging the cable. This will activate the ports without putting any wear on the plug.

Hi thanks for the advice, however that does not activate my USB c on my battery. Not sure if it's a faulty battery or not. But I bought a barrel plug to atomos and that is powered on as soon as button pressed. I think as usb c port is used for charging the smart tech is cutting power. Not so smart as it thinks lol. Neewer should maybe rethink the technology.

I contacted the company and they replied it's how it's meant to be. It's to prevent the battery draining via the usb c. I bought a cable for the 9v plug, and works as intended. Thanks all. Just means the usb c is not really a valid port for the ninja power.
