TRIGGER WARNING!!! Dude I love the detail you go into with these videos, but the corner of your desk curling up had me so distracted!
@keith-knittel10 ай бұрын
Hahaha thanks for the kind words and yeah… I understand that. It’s a an awesome desk pad but the edges curl up slightly in the winter/when the temps are cooler/dryer. It looks a lot worse on camera than it actually is. I’m looking to change my office up soon so I’ll look into that ha

Thank Keith for such an INFORMATIVE & DETAILED review. I love it because you compare 4 brands of v mount batteries. They are: Core, Fxlion, Smallrig, and ZGCINE. Besides, you compare them in multiple different categories such as: constant power delivery, ports & connections, size & weights, etc. You also mention Core 45W Fast Charger. Two small things are missing from this video: 1. You don’t say if you receive these Core SWX Nano X for free or not. 2. You also don’t talk about their disadvantages.

Big fan of these batteries! I only run core on my Komodo X and these new ones are game changers. Love usb c charging!

How do you do regarding not seeing the remaining battery on the camera screen? I mean there must be a risk of forgetting to check the percentage and that the camera dies in the middle of a shot?

In my opinion the most important thing is how long the warranty is. Vmount batteries have more and more unnecessary electronics instead of just being a battery. In my smllrig VB99 battery the electronics failed after 25 months. The battery is dead, even though the cells were still highly efficient and would probably work for a few more years. Old Vmount batteries from other brands, without a nice display etc. lasted an average of 4-6 years of use and usually the cells that held the current failed in them.

Better build quality and longevity is the key thing really. I was about to try one of these Nano X, but then Core immediately released this new fangled PD Pro delivery system right after releasing these batteries, and it is a handy looking function. Now I feel like I wish they had put the PD Pro system onto these batteries.

Me too! I've been trying to get my hands on those new PD pro batteries. Saw them at NAB this year and they look awesome
@matadormartin6 ай бұрын
As it happens I did ask Core in the end, they basically said it could be a long time before these batteries get PD Pro because they have a commitment to the OEM so they prob won’t change them anytime soon. Would’ve been nice but for now I think it is one or the other

I assume these are the same cells as the Core Neo line. Any cons about these?

So do I understand correctly that Smallrig battery doesn't show the remaining battery life quickly in a push of a button?

Great information! Thank you very much. Since all the ports are in the battery... Would you use a V Mount Battery Adapter Plate with connections and ports or just a basic v mount adapter? Also. Have you tried the new NEEWER V Mount Battery PS099E? I know its a much cheaper brand but the comparison are pretty good and its less than half price.... wondering...

The larger 150WH version of the Core SWX is a lot more expensive than the SmallRig one. Not sure if the same applies for the smaller 98/99Wh batteries.

The old batteries would use 18650 cells, whereas the new one here would be flat-pack cells. The old cells took up more space and are heavier, flatpacks have a plastic 'shell' and obviously take up less space.

Not gonna lie, the smallrigs are very inconsistent, iv had all sorts of voltage issues w them , it was pumping out more than it should, it was spiking. And smallrig support was not helpful at all.
