So many gear reviewers just say its good so they can get potential sponsorships. Much appreciated to see some honesty for once!

DAMN! this is what i've been looking for in photo-related accesories!!! short, useful and to-the-point vids, everybody make super long and boring videos, this is just perfect, props for that!!

Excellent review I hope you keep doing more. I especially liked how you went back and forth to show the difference in the 'P'. Also, the camera work, voice over, sound quality, and 3x3 "comparison charts" were awesome.

Nice, would like to see it reviewed next to a $400 Heliopan or Schneider to see how it holds up.

Did you test this filter for flaring or other artifacts when shooting in the direction of the sun or other bright light source? One thing to take photos of paper and text in a controlled environment. Quite another to measure performance in real world situations.

is there a filter thread on this? could i screw on a lens hood for example?
@DAVID50GOMEZ9 жыл бұрын
Can this be used to take pictures during the daylight and get a nice picture? For example, take a picture of waterfalls or waves and make them look smooth after long exposure. Sony dsc hx300

Thanks for this, have now bought this filter and I am very happy with it.

Just ordered one for $9. Seems like it only works decently well with wide lenses. Crossing my fingers it works well with my yongnuo 35mm.

Hi,I have tried this with My FZ1000 an on full zoom its extremely soft and unusable Have you tried it at full telephoto?
@monthlysurvey12 жыл бұрын
It would have indeed, the farther forward your front glass, aka with a filter, the more unwanted light you'll catch, so using a good would have probably eliminated the issue.

I use one from LVSHI and it also has minimal setting at the fourth dot. I believe it was 25 euro's and came from China. I use it on a GH2 too and I love it. :)

Good video I got this filter its pretty good but I was getting a lot of ghosting and other stuff when using it in bright sunlight I did not have a hood on my 1.2 so maybe that would have helped....

+8bitPlays You mean f/1.8? Just get one of these in the 52mm size for that lens.

The cheaper ND filters also feel very gritty when screwing onto the lens i.e. Chinese ND vs Japan manufactured - The Japan maufactured ND filer is as smooth as butter when attaching to the lens which shows the care in manufacturing and the materials used - i.e. you get what you pay for
@LEXTHE412 жыл бұрын
The thing that you missed is contrast and colour saturation. From my experience, they are the biggest problems resulting from cheap filters.
@MatthewThewsey12 жыл бұрын
surely you can just buy a fixed polarised filter then get a adustble polarised filter. Would work alot better.

I second you'r opinion. It also passes the ""Wobbley test" as described here The problem with cheap Variable Neutral Density Filters. My personal theory is that "The big guys" have rigorous quality control, but do sell "failed" filters in bulk without the brand name. As for color saturation and contrast, it satisfies my subjective view too. 10 bucks well spent.

ok so call me an idiot, But why is there the X like pattern at the 7th and 6th image? I get these when I try to use the filter
@tobugoc8 жыл бұрын
I'd like to know as well. I had a variable ND filter and after seeing that X on my images, I got myself a 10 stop ND filter to replace it.

thanks for the review: just a thing to improve your reviews : you are comparing sharpness at 42mm where this panasonic kit lens is the softest (even when stopped at it's peak sharpness : f8), you should have done your test at 14mm , it is much sharper at f4 (www.lenstip.com/339.4-Lens_review-Panasonic_G_X_VARIO_PZ_14-42_mm_f_3.5-5.6_ASPH._P.O.I.S._Image_resolution.html and then you may have noticed a softening of the image with the nd filter (tip : to test a lens sharpness you can shoot your driver licence, it has multiple thickness of lines and dots )

The Japanese say names very quickly so to European/American "ears" the blending of the "i-k" sounds to them like a European "ick" instead of a Japanese "i." Then again it wasn't till the company was out of the USA before Americans learned that Renault was pronounced "Reneau." Then there is "Target." Generally the deal among sociologists & linguists is that things are pronounced as they are to the native speakers not to non-native speakers no matter how much they insist on their own "rightness!"
@PyroSurge10111 жыл бұрын
yes of course
