I know 6 priests that either are or were exorcists. I have also encountered a handful of possessed people in my 23 years as a priest. So I who never go to the movies went and saw this today. The acting is amazing and the message is an eye-opener - to hear the devil's plan from a demon is certainly a wake up call. The actor playing the possessed person did so well that it reminded me of a specific possessed man I worked with many years ago - in other words, this is what full blown possession looks and sounds like. And please note... if you go, make sure to stay until the very, very, very end - I mean until all of the music has stopped and the credits have run their full course. Then you will hear the demon say through the loud speakers in Latin and another ancient language translated by Daniel in the Old Testament: "YOU have been weighed in the balance and found wanting. Are you stupid? Do you not comprehend? It is to be continued [continuendum est]." A bit of sinister humor... the famous "to be continued". The battle continues and if you don't understand that you are, indeed, stupid [stultus es]. Let's pray lots of Rosaries! Our Lady of Victory, pray for us! St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us!

Saw it tonight- Sean Patrick Flannery was amazing! As I was watching, I was like, “Check, check, yep!” And I did hear the demonic voice at the end of the credits. I told my husband I was going to have to Google what it meant, all I understood was “to be continued!”

Every Christian should buy a ticket. The movie isn't a call to Catholicism, but a call to attention... attention to the plans of Satan. It is a warning about complacency in the face of evil. It is a warning about how society claims that which is evil is "good."

I believe sometimes when people say they cannot remember- they are speaking the truth. (About their crimes) I have had 2 alcoholic blackouts. By the grace of God, and his protection- I committed no crime. Yes, remember his word- it isn’t flesh and blood you war against but the principalities, the darkness of the world. (Totally paraphrased) but you understand. Everything is spiritual. Everything. Be encouraged, the Lord wants you!

I used to work as an interpreter. Got called to psych wards a lot. Was once called to a psych ICU. The girl was young and timid looking. Non verbal. When we were alone together, she lifted her head and peered straight into my soul. Turning her head sideways slowly, she asked me “are you good or are you evil?” There was a knowing malicious smirk on her face. Then she went back to putting her head down and being expressionless. Glad to say I returned to my catholic faith some time after that. I like to think that God allowed it as a clue that I needed to get my act together because there’s a difference between thinking one is good and actually being so. Looking back in hindsight, there’s a lot of demonic activity in psych wards.

If you see this film and think it was well worth your time, please leave a positive review on the usual sites like Rotten Tomatoes etc. Currently on RT, it has received a 33% score from reviewers but an audience score of 97%. The public is hungry for the message of the film but the establishment critics' view is that "it lacks subtlety, the expressed views of the demon are clearly a mouthpiece for the filmmakers". They even slam the casting which is ridiculous. With their poison pens, they want as few people as possible to see this movie. I'd say that it is the reviews themselves that lack subtlety. A couple more: "The film's heavy-handed and bogus message tells us that Hollywood is immoral because it acts to corrupt its viewer's minds." and "The only thing not covered in this Christo-fascist manifesto of a movie is “guns.” These are laughable reviews, their own extreme bias and agenda are screaming from the rooftops. I enjoyed one positive review that says, " Nefarious is interesting enough to give it a watch. Just leave prejudice behind and enjoy the possession take they're going for." The Wiki page is a slam piece, mentioning the negative critic reviews and parroting the establishment reviews. They make no mention of the general audience giving this film an overwhelmingly positive 97% approval and enjoyment rating. So please do what you can to give this film its proper due and justice.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm not surprised Rotten Tomatoes (rotten souls?)and other professional critics have been giving it bad reviews; I just consider the source. They liked that Everything Everywhere movie which I thought was one of the stupidest, most confusing, most boring movies I have ever seen in my life. It totally sucked. I kept thinking, Is it over yet? Probably the only reason the satanic reviewers liked it was because it mocked the church. The Nefarious movie, on the other hand, was one of the most suspenseful and interesting movies I have ever seen; it kept me on the edge of my seat. I think Sean Patrick Flanery deserves to win Best Actor. It's an amazing movie. The bad reviews are crazy. They just say a lot about the spiritual state of the professional reviewers. I feel sorry for them actually. I hope the disparity between the professional reviews and audience reviews make people curious, stop and think, and go see this movie.

INTENSE from start to finish!!! Excellent production. Much of it validated what I already have read and listened to about how demons operate and the state of the world it’s in currently and why, his desires, his pleasures, his dislikes, etc. If you aren’t exactly sure how demons truly think or operate, this movie will hit you at your core. Definitely not an “R” rated movie however, it has a couple of scenes that are disturbing (I was in tears). A must see film for all, no matter the religion. It’s a movie that is 100% spiritually factual, eye opening, and encouraging. Highly probable that the conversion of many souls who do not believe or who are indifferent, with Gods grace and mercy, will come to believe ♥️

Vulgar? We didn't realize about the type of pre-show. It was totally satanic. Kids were in most of the movie clips & was extremely gruesome, one in particular, can't even mention it. Totally agree. The previews before the movie were EVIL. I plugged my ears, shut my eyes and prayed continuous Hail Marys for the entire 15 minutes. I still wished I had avoided them altogether. The evil was palpable during that 20 minutes before the movie. I thought Nefarious was excellent. It may be think beyond the surface about our judgements of people. Yes, the man opened himself up to the demons and cooperated with evil, but it seemed that he wanted deliverance. The priest was no help and people just dehumanized him and wrote him off. Meanwhile, these same people are also guilty of sin--but those sins are completely acceptable in society. This made me decide to pray more for those who do not yet know the love of God and for true knowledge of my own sins that I may repent.

@@jamesisaacson6379Fr.Chris Alar has an amazing series called "Divine Mercy - Explaining the Faith" on KZbin. He has a full episode on Purgatory, and he explains it a lot better than I can, so I recommend you watch that! Basically, a soul with the stain of sin on it can not enter heaven, which is perfect and without sin of any kind. Holy souls who enter Purgatory do so for purification, to ready them for heaven. It's a spiritual purification, not physical. Your level of suffering (regret at offending God, remorse at hurting people in life) will depend on how you lived your life. We should all aim for Sainthood in this life. I won't make it, but I aim to live each day better, more fruitfully and grow to love God more each day. God bless 😊

Considering just how much of the movie involves dialogue between two people in a single room, I was surprised at just how good it was and how I didn't need them to go lots of other places or have many more characters. It kept me paying attention to the dialogue. It had me trying to anticipate what would happen next or at least what would have to happen by the end. It had me focusing on whether what was said was accurate theology, and it was very good. It also had me paying attention to spiritually unwise things people do, and how the character playing the atheist made such mistakes. I liked the video LifeSiteNews created where they talked to some of the guys that made the film. They pointed out some of the spiritual warfare that seemed to be going on to keep this from coming out.

I saw this movie today because of this youtube posting!! It was excellent!! I did stay until the very, very end and heard the Latin. I went to the matinee and was the ONLY person in the theater!! I did have my rosary with me. I may go see it a second time.

If all catholic exorcist would find time on KZbin explaining the tricks of the devil, that would be enough, the teenager is not mature enough to make summary what is the lesson in the movie. Let's keep learning how to pray rosaries, how to read Bible, how to use sacramental items .

I came to it from the perspective of a horror guy. Didn’t actually know it was a particularly religious film (except to the extent that any demon possession story stems from religion). But I liked it a lot, and I think the comparison to The Screwtape Letters is on point (my own review made the same comparison). I was actually a bit disappointed to see how many of my fellow horror fans objected to it because it didn’t necessarily match with their own ideology. I mean, I’ve watched movies from filmmakers on the left, right, and center, and if it’s a good movie, it’s a good movie. Regardless of politics.

This movie was just like Fr. Carlos Martins said. It's uncomfortable but very well done. We need to see how evil shows itself, but I highly recommend it for 13 yrs old and up.very profound. I will be going tomorrow nite again, with a friend. DON'T MISS IT!

In Fr. Martin's podcast, "The Exorcist Files," he explains how demons delight in torchering their victims. The portrayal of such in this movie was difficult to watch. You find yourself feeling compassionate towards this victim... and rightly so.

I haven't watched it but the same exorcist who suggested this movie also denounced The Pope's Exorcist as being nothing but Hollywood forgery. The only thing accurate in the Pope's Exorcist is the name of Fr. Gabriel Amorth.

Steve Deace knows it's Revival or BUST. He is a great Christian. He knows we gotta fight our way out of this mess & is not afraid to be strong. A reason I almost ran off with the Protestants. He helped me get back on the straight & narrow & I kept my Catholic Religion. Deace is important. ❤️‍🔥📿⛪🙏🏽🦨

Loved this film and this review. So glad Gaby mentioned to beware of the previews... seriously, BOLO if you go see the movie. There were four previews at the theater I visited and one was so vulgar and filled with profanity (can't remember the name of the film, the preview was so repulsive) that I am convinced it was put in there just to offend people of faith. That said, Nefarious more than made up for it. See this film asap if you are a person of faith
