The Japanese are good at that--integrating foreign things into their music culture (and culture in general). And when you think about it, ska is (or was) pretty foreign to most Western cultures too, but it travels pretty well. Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra (or Sukapara as they are often known here) kick ass. Kemuri, Retro Honpo and Gollbetty are some other good J-ska bands. Jitterin' Jinn plays a fair amount of ska and practically pioneered the Japanese ska scene. Lots of good stuff!

I think it's great that the Japanese managed to integrate something so foreign into their music culture I particularly like these guys and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra

2021 Is The Best Song Of Yum!Yum!Orange From Philippines😁
ridiculous that this video got flagged. Thank you to the person who posted it, I have been wanting to hear some of YumYum Orange's music after having it recommended.
I just went to the Goingkobe music fest today, and there were literally 100 bands playing in one day (lots of stages and military precision!), including this one, Anyway, about 80% of the bands seemed to be ska, punk, or some combination thereof! And, most of them were local bands; nationally there are way more.
@chuckiebobphil11 жыл бұрын
well you have to remember the 3rd wave started in 80's so 33 years ago and they've put on consistent stuff sense then and they had a few 2-tone bands.Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra started 85, Kemuri - 95, and POTSHOT - 95.

I first heard this song around 2008. Over the years, it grew with memories of old friends, happy times, sad times. It is getting harder and harder to listen to it every year, nowadays I hear the first chords and tears start running down my cheeks, it's embarrassing. Ah, those Precious Days, indeed.

Well, really only since the beginning of the third wave, if I remember correctly. Japan is just a tad more diverse and accepting in the ways of "pop-culture", or whatever it should be called, so it thrived, unlike in America where we only seem to go through one scene at a time.

KZbin needs to review "inappropriate" flags with someone who understands the language before they allow the kind of racism that got this video flagged. I speak perfect Japanese and there isn't a single offensive word in this song. If anyone from KZbin is reading this please unflag this video as FLAGGING this video is a perfect example of what you're calling "hate-speech." Thank you!
