I agree, while it was kinda dragged out it was important. I look back on it more fondly now. But i think watching it live just made it seem worse than it really was. There are alot of powerful moments in this season. I wouldn't change it for anything now

it was, I agree. It was not a bad season because of that. It was a bad season(at least compared to Seasons 2-6) because of pacing, episodes featuring characters we just dont care that much about(Tara) exclusively and characters making dumb decisions repeatedly. Also, Glen and Abraham did leave a big void that the remaining supporting cast was not able to fill. Is it terrible? No...but it is one of the weaker seasons.

I remember when I first saw this episode I was almost begging for Negan to come in because I knew he hated that kind of behaviour And he did not disappoint :D His knife went through the guy like a hot knife through butter and oh it was so satisfying.

Negan is so complexed He is manipulative and has a big ego but he also sees how strong someone is and uplifts them in a way Like with Carl Sasha killed a lot of Negan’s men but Negan locked her up and still killed someone who tried to rape her It’s like he’s trying to hold on to the past but have to live in the now Compared to the Governor who just killed everyone and didn’t care Negan earns respect from fear.

Seeing scenes like the Sasha scene in the beginning, or even scenes like the lineup in the premiere, makes you realize just how much more level headed Negan is compared to someone like the governor. Governor would've offed everyone at the lineup without hesitation. Governor also acted like he was going to r-word Maggie when they captured her and Glenn.. So looking at other characters we've ran into, Negan is actually more reasonable and less psychopathic than most of them. He plays a part for his people, much like Ezekiel, but he also has a code.

I felt that the season felt long intentionally to emphasise the ideal of utter defeat and a really slow turn around, where each character has to overcome the trauma of what happened and become stronger first before they can meet the challenge of taking on Negan.

Rick told Dwight to get on his knees so Dwight would be scared of what was going to happen next just like Simon had told Rick and CO to get on their knees on that night that everything changed forever when Negan put fear into Rick and the others but manly Rick since Daryl Carl Sasha Maggie Michonne and Rosita all wanted to go kill Negan immediately I guess I should throw Aaron and Eugene in there as well because they were scared after the murders but anyways Rick wanted Dwight to feel that fear but also I think it’s because Dwight did some fucked up stuff before this moment so betraying Daryl and taking his bike and crossbow back in the first half of Season 6 then the big things he did were killing Denise capturing Glenn and Michonne and using them as bait for Daryl Dwight then shot Daryl and took Daryl Michonne Rosita and Glenn to the clearing in the woods then of course Dwight bullied Daryl at the Sanctuary I do think Dwight deserves redemption because we saw more of who he is during this Season and how he and Sherry has so much love for each other that Sherry willingly married Negan to spare Dwight.
