The value of the pound is quite literally nowhere near its 1yr low. Zooming in on a graph like this will make it look much worse than it is. Plus comparing it to "a basket of other currencies" could mean anything at this rate!

Inflation is a tax on working people via the devaluation of the Fiat Currency. Considering the food import increase percentage (doubling in a few years) and the additional millions of more mouths to feed due to unlimited immigration and the national security threats of Open borders and the consant attacks to make farming in the UK uneconomical due to the UK government policies then there will shortly be food supply chain shortages. The cost of living crisis may soon become unsustainable on these islands.

Any young person wishing to get into farming without inheriting land is wasting their time and land could be cheaper that will make it easier for young farmers to acquire land . With the area farm payments coming to a end in the next year or two and only linked to farms been eligible with 10% of their land been used for growing trees and agree to strict environmentally friendly farming practises in reduced slurry fertiliser use and for , wildlife and traditional British plants a new day is dawning and less demand from farmers with the EU Basic payment giving 25,000 a acre for hill land in NI or anywhere in UK .

25 year debt binge by both labour and conservatives, now we're on the edge of bankruptcy. In the next 5-10 years, the market will force austerity upon the UK, the likes of which has never been seen before. It's inevitable, and the sooner, the better because kicking the can down the road ultimately leads to a bigger catastrophe.
