A tip for the thread locked piston heads , you can hit a ph2 screw driver with a torch , then stick it down into the piston head screw and with a few seconds , the thread lock will become warm and loose , push it against silicone Matt or your lovely matt there and boom ! Becareful not to hold it too long cause it’ll melt the thread insert out !

Maxx do two different types of trigger - the advanced and the speed. The advanced has an adjustment for length of pull, the speed also has an adjustment for return. If the cutout on the receiver is too short the extra lump on the front of the speed trigger which houses the screw for adjusting the return position gets stuck and causes the problems you had. When faced with it myself, I cut off the chunk at the front and smoothed it off but extending the cutout in the receiver is also an option (or just make sure you don't get the "speed" version of the trigger in the first place). They're decent enough triggers and are nicely made, I find they work better than the standard trigger for Aster/Titan sensors but they are a bit overpriced and I'm not sure they work any better than say a Big Dragon one of a similar style.

maxx cylinder head paired with retro arms double oring nozzle works great! What hes not telling you kiddies is that with a thinner rack on the piston you have to shim accordingly to get the rack centered on the sector gear as close as you can get. else you'll end up with possible edge wear and mechanical inefficiency.

Hi Luke! Great video... again :) I use metal clips when putting together a gearbox. I made them out of aluminium sheet metal (easy to bend); they work great for holding down the tappet plate, any wires that want to pop out and for holding in the anti reversal latch (you need to make a cut lenght-wize, so it holds it around its axel). I hope it makes your work easier

A little tip to put the bearings inside the piston. Place the head first, they are normally a snug fit, so they won't need attention. Then, place the whole bearing assembly on the screwdriver, with it aiming UP. Take the piston with the head and place it over the screwdriver like a hat. 95% of the times it will just go straight into the hole and you can tight it up straight away. Let gravity help you ;)

Not too long ago I opened up my VFC Avalon to install a Warfet. I was the first to open that gearbox as the proof sticker was still intact. I was very surprisesd to find the sector gear was short-stroked however what I found especially odd was it was the LAST three teeth that were removed rather than the first. Gun shoots fine but surly that must be messing with the timing between the piston and the tappet plate?
@mercsoul14 жыл бұрын

Stuck just a Maxx Nozzle in my GC16 and it works perfectly. Only other new parts is an M110 spring, maple leave barrel 6.02 and Madbull flat rubber, yeah I know. But I get around 410fps. And it's not a DMR. Think we have a bit more leniency when it comes to fps in my part of the world.

I would still glue a rack down even if it was super tight in the piston, just because it lessens the force the back of the piston takes when it is being pulled back

on the speed trigger safety issue i had the same issue when i converted my g&g 308 to hpa, i filed down the safety arm in the gearbox to the point where it was just barely touching the microswitch also there is a company (maybe airtech i can't be sure) that makes an extension to go on stock g&g triggers to make it into a speed trigger
@martyx42354 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't use a file in order to hold down the spring guide on a particularly stiff or unwieldy spring. Screwdrivers or long screws, by all means. A file is always going to be brittle thanks to the surface hardening and they do not respond well to loads that come perpendicular to the long axis of the file. Worst case scenario, the file snaps in half and you get splinters everywhere.
@advanceddarkness34 жыл бұрын
I have always used a pointy file to hold down the spring guide, they work great. I have installed multiple M170-M190 springs in DSG builds and besides a bent file, zero issues.

I started to tech a bit and i really apreciate all the tips and fine tunes that you show us. I am trying to build a gun from 0 and i got these parts: Big Dragon m160 motor Shs piston / full steel teeth Tornado 13:1 gear set M130 spring ( unknown brand ) Silent mushroom piston head and cylinder head. 60 % Cylinder The question is a delicate one, i want to take 3 teeth out of the rack and the sector gear and i wonder how much fps/ ms will drop that, can i lower the spring instead , getting a m120 instead ? Of course this question is applying in normal condition, nice hopup chamber and a good piston air seal. My target is to get around 1.2 joules .
@funthingsartillery35634 жыл бұрын
My reason is to not get PMA from this because the piston head is kid of heavy and to get a much snapy trigger

Been struggling with another build this week, wanted to get a Retro Arms shell and a Leviathan V2 into my LCT G3. Beautiful parts, but it's been nerve-wrecking with the amount of little things the Leviathan wants to happen before cycling. Still likes to restart the unit rather than just turning over. When it fires, it's so nice though! Unrelated question: Have you had other snakes before and would you recommend getting a ball python as well? My girlfriend really wants a pet snake, so I'm genuinely asking for advice here!
