Nehemiah Gordon is a wonderful, educated, heaven sent tool and above all a true and refreshing GIFT to this world. Before I develop a personal relationship with someone, the very first thing we usually learn about them is their name. All the academic philosophy and debate is good. Except it detracts from our ability to really get to known God and call him our friend. John 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ." This verse shows that we are obligated to know more than his name or how it's pronounced as an academic exercise. But to get to know him as a person and the full meaning of his name. Refreshing most refreshing. Yehovah has both restored Israel AND the Hebrew language for the sake of HIS name. It is most unwise and dare I say arrogant to reject input from people who speak and breath Hebrew. I listen to Israelis teaching and sharing in their mother tongue whose passion for Yeshua and level of research is impressive. They research ancient texts with a level of understanding that would otherwise take decades of scholarship. To Hebrew speakers and to people who have an ear tuned to Hebrew some of the attempts at names of Yehovah and Yeshua sound extremely stilted (to be polite) My wife visibly cringes at some of the names and word games done by people who do not speak Hebrew. In relation to belief that the budded rod represents the truth growing in us when we acknowledge the Father's authority, in the seventh chapter of Ezekiel, the prophet apparently alludes to such a belief by condemning those performing idolatrous abominations by saying the following: "Behold, the day! Could anyone help me on this, I'm overlooking the words with the root H3467 yasha` יָשַׁע for other Hebrew words to see how they are pronounced? I have these 3 for the moment and looks like there is variation in them all? Shua, Shea, Sha... But the meaning is the same? In the Bible, making known one’s name may involve revealing the name itself as well as what the name stands for​-the person’s reputation and all that he declares himself to be. ( compare Mt 6:9;) Jesus made known God’s name not just by using it but by revealing the Person behind the name-his purposes, activities, and qualities. Yehovah and the word Hovah, sounds alike, use the same letters but have different meaning. Don't you have heard about "homograph"? Words that have the same spelling but completely different meaning? Have a look on google about homograph examples. Then, when the name of God is in the beginning of a word it is : Yeho Yeho-nathan > Jonathan Yeho-nadab > Jonadab Yeho-yakim > Joakim Yeho-shua > Joshua / Jesus Yeho-ram > Joram Yeho-ab > Joab Yeho-ode > Jehuda ... When in Jerusalem I walked around with a Yellow Backpack with the name of God - The Pictograph version of the name, now a day Hebrew and a translation in English. "Backpack also had the name of Yeshua on both sides in Pictograph and the last letter Tau which is a Cross and some other things but not really important for this" My Backpack had been handed over to a man as you were not allowed to take your backpack with you inside the place I was going - afterwards when I needed to collect my backpack after some hours inside - He came with my backpack and told me in a serious voice. We don't say the name of God in Israel - I told him I knew that and was going on to tell him about the Pictograph - but he stopped me and pointed to the English on my backpack and said, THIS, this is a translations of This and he pointed to the now a day Hebrew. The English name I had on my backpack was Yahuah... Whatever worth it is. Just a data point to take into consideration. I really need to go to Israel again - I have so much to find and seek out and dig into - I really miss it... It's a blessing in itself to be able to travel to Israel ones again in world history.

I have great respect for Nehemia although I don't always agree on doctrine. I pray that one day he applies the words of Jesus in John 6:28-29. Putting that aside, Nehemia is every accurate with historical application and I have learnt a great deal from this man. Why do we have a -yahu suffix in names like Eliyahu, Mattithyahu, etc, but a yeho- prefix in names like Yehoyada, Yehoshuwa? I don't see any justification for this.

The most interesting is the time of the Tetragram problem. This problem arose practically at the moment of Christ's resurrection. Servants of satan got mad. I forgot one interesting point the Greek letter zeta looking at old script looks very much like the letter j. Scriptures clearly says that Ha Satan has come to turn the Earth backwards and when you flip this letter backwards the truth of Chikenna (Shekinah) can be seen. The letter J is the hook.

I am not posting the below information in order to endorse any doctrines or traditions related to Hinduism, which is not a belief system I give any credence to! Hindusim is largely a pantheistic religion that lacks a basis in the truths revealed by YHVH. I don't need to appeal to Hindusim as my primary support for my belief that the name of YHVH is 'YéHaVaH' (יֵהָוָה) But the sad reality is that since the Israelites were taken captive into Babylon, there were many many socio-political reasons that it was probably extremely difficult to preserve the name. And this is why I believe it is possible that some of those who were scattered ended up in the region we know today as India. In fact, such a belief is largely confirmed by several lines of evidence, including the survival of certain traditions and DNA research findings. There are still people of Israelite descent living for instance in Kashimir, although I have not studied thoroughly their religious practices and doctrines enough to vouch for this community's Torah-faithfulness. Nevertheless, I would imagine that on balance there are probably pros as well as cons with regard to becoming part of the Diaspora, since these people were exiled before the emergence of the Pharisaical class in Judea and Samaria - although since these scattered tribes were dispersed so far from their origin for so many generations, it was probably difficult to maintain the purity of their doctrines, especially since doing so would require robust preservation of the pertinent historical records. Even if such a record could have been preserved, I would imagine that much of it would have had to go underground in the face of conflict brought about by those groups adhering to other religions. Again, this post should not be understood as anything other than an educational food-for-thought sort that allows you to think of the possibility that the name could have survived in a place that we would not expect at first glance - and that the name could survive mostly in tact (except for the final 'h' sound, which I believe was originally sounded) among people who apparently lost much of the historical memory and doctrines associated with the Almighty One the name refers to.] It appears there are both points of convergence and divergence between Hindu and ancient Hebraic belief. JPS version of Leviticus24:15 contains a phrase that is not in KJV that seems important. It is the story of a fight between two men and one of them receives a death sentence for blasphemy in accordance with the Law. The phrase that is missing from the KJV is..."if he also PRONOUNCES THE NAME LORD, he shall be put to death..."In the footnotes,"...thus, one who maligned God or invoked evil WITHOUT actually pronouncing the Tetragrammaton would be exempt from the death penalty, since no actual desecration of the sacred Name would have taken place." My question is, Did the rabbis ADD this stipulation to Torah AFTER Roman laws were issued that had a death sentence for uttering God's name aloud publicly, or did the translators OMIT this phrase from the KJV? Question how many prefixes and suffixes changes in hebrew? Because Yahu Changes to Yeho, or if you may, the other way around - but it's the same short form of the name of God. How ordinary is it that Hebrew changes its saying/pronunciation from Suffix to the Prefix? How does YHW or YH alone in hebrew without being placed as a Prefix or Suffix - being pronounce? Yah Yahu or Yeh Yehu? "To my knowledge its pronounced Yah Yahu but please correct me if I am wrong" Either way the wordings or the pronunciation would point to the same using hebrew, right? Because Yeho is the >exact< same thing in now a day hebrew as Yahu according to Hebrew! So saying Yahu(w)-ah or Yeho(w)-ah would actually mean the exact same thing. Okay I'm back playing this again... We just want the truth and nothing but the truth. How does Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh then becomes Yehovah by hebrew verbs? Would be nice with an explanation.... It should match up with some kind of roots or child roots or shortened words making up the Name? I really need to learn hebrew - this is getting at me.

I am a little confused about this video verses another of Nehemia videos. In another video he spells it Yohovah (sounded like Yoe-Hoe-Vah) but in this video, you made it sound like Yahovah/Yehovah (sounded like Yah-Hoe-Vah). WRONG!!!!! The claim is being made that the word Jehovah is a Latin word that was invented in the 1270's by Raymundus Martini who is a RC Spanish monk. First of all, this appears to assume that "Jehovah" is not a representation of the name as found in ancient Hebrew, but does not give what is thought to be the true English form of that name. Secondly, the English form Jehovah is a direct transliteration of the form used by the Masoretes long before Raymundus Martini wrote any form of that name. Thirdly, the form used by Martini was not at all Jehovah, but was :"Yohoua."

Exactly, Numbers 13:16 in Hebrew. After the captivity shua came in, it's Aramaic And yeh instead of YAH.. I understand it's a sister language, but I'd rather use the older Hebrew.. Some words have a very different meaning between the two. YAH BLESS !

Who is the Yeshua of the Son of Joseph - is it someone from the Tanakh? If It's Yeshua from the new testament I don't think we find any pointers between Yehoshua and the name Yeshua? as we find with Yehoshua/Yeshua the Son of Nun. Need some help on this! Just trying to find sources of the things - I like the example of Nehemiah, Yeho-hu becoming Yo-hu but then changed to Yehu.... Still confused of many things but trying to nail it at some point. You know one of the Museums in Israel actually uses or used less then a year ago Yahu and not Yehu in the english translation when placed in the front of the name.... Use of the name 'Jesus' implies belief in the torahless messiah we've been indoctrinated with for so long. As we move away from that lie, it's helpful to know which messiah a speaker is referring to. It can help one discern whom to listen to or not. In a time of 'confusion', I feel this clarity is 'important'. We seem to be getting too many differnt groups cropping up wanting to combine theologies. J.C. is for the christians, and Yashua is for the torah observers. We need to be set apart, even in our language, even if it is not perfetly pronounced, spelled, written... So, help us out in this. Thanks.
