God's call to Nehemiah brought about confession and repentance from him, for his and his family's sins, plus the sins of Israel. Nehemiah prays and fasts to God in deep contrition, with an open heart, reminding God of His convenant relationship with His people, and for God's mercy and direction. Nehemiah did not have a pity party and walloh in sorrow; prayer needs to be followed by practical faith steps. The revival and reformation that took place in Nehemiah's life made him be not just a good leader, but a Godly leader; God's faithful servant even in unprecedented times and circumstances, facing oppression, conspiracies and direct enemy attacks. Nehemiah was a no compromisor; a prayer warrior; he brought all his problems, and that which all the rebuilders were facing, to God; did all that God directed, thereby accomplishing the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem. Whether men or women, may we like Nehemiah, humble ourselves, and take the practical faith steps to accomplish God's will, as God directs each one of us; we serve a loving, living and almighty God.

This has come to me at God's timing. I have been searching for God's direction for a few years, and only recently that has been revealing itself that I really can relate towards the homeless on the streets, and I have received a vision to that end. This teaching just caps it off, as within that vision, I also was directed to Nehemiah. I have to take down the broken fences that surround my life, and on the new foundations that the biblical teaching provides, I have to build a castle for protection, and fly from the highest tower God as a banner for all to see and know where the protection comes from. That's the desire of my heart, which He has clearly given me, only I can restrict it, so I've just got to live it out now. That will be interesting.

Wow, me too! I've been praying for years, and have been given clear insight into my calling after listening to this! I too am called to the homeless, the downcast, the rejected, the mentally ill! Praise God for this enlightenment!
