I show up to mow this kind lady's property and the neighbor's already standing outside trying to figure out what i'm doing. I do my initial walkthrough. I mind my own business, not paying attention. Take pictures for the before & after. And as i'm setting up to start mowing, he approaches me and starts asking me all these questions of "hey is it truly free? I heard that you do free overgrown lawn makeovers. I've been in this business for 11 years, never heard of anyone doing that"... (Watch the video to see what happens after!)

My first instinct was that maybe he is interested in starting up a KZbin channel, but after hearing the rest of the conversation, I think he’s being nosy and probably wanted to charge them to cut it himself (or he’s upset that they declined his services and were able to get it for free). The more I thought about it I wondered why didn't he ever ask if his neighbor if they needed help. But then I know offering caring help to someone in need is just not in a lot of people's wheelhouse. I think Fill has inspired many people watching his videos to reach out and help others in whatever way their talents lead them. A seed is planted ( no pun intended). Sometimes it flourishes and other times nothing happens. Nevertheless the seed is planted...it gives them pause for a moment with that generous thought. Thank you, Fill!

I see some of these yard care guys going a bit further these days with little tasks that us older folks really appreciate. They nail up fence boards and haul away the rubbish that doesn't fit in the trash. I understand not doing it due to costs, but man, what a difference it can make! ❤

What I took from the conversation was that he was trying to figure out how you were doing this for free. He said to you, "she said you were doing this for free." He probably came over and asked her if she wanted her yard mowed. She then told him about you doing it for free. But then, feeling guilty about turning down a neighbor, she let him do her front lawn. He then got nosy about you.

What would have been really cool is if this neighbor had taken it upon himself to have already helped this lady out. I was 2 years divorced, struggling, my 14yo son decided to come live with me, barely able to feed him and I and one day I came home from work and found my front and back yard mowed. Turned out my elderly, retired across the street neighbor mowed it for me. And he did it again and again until I was able to get far enough ahead to buy a used mower. So, yeah, that what a "neighbor" is all about.

Another great transformation as always! By the height of the grass, I'm thinking maybe he has offered to do her lawn for a ridulous amount of money she couldn't afford so he was waiting for her to get desperate enough to pay him what he wanted. When you showed up, he came over to find out what you were charging her to do the lawn that she must have agreed to. Of course without him coming right out and asking, you explained to him how you do overgrown lawns for people in need for free and just found it hard to believe, that's why he had to look you up on his phone. With the equipment you have on your truck and trailer, he immediately knew you did lawncare and thought she had hired you! Nosy, yes! Curious, yes! He knew he lost the job so he went home not offering to help because he wasn't about to work for free for her when she wouldn't agree to what he wanted to charge her! That's only my opinion, however, I think that is what the story was behind that! Well - in my humble opinion, I think he had no ill intentions. He was curious about your ability to make a living and offer free services. He appeared to want to ask you more on how to do this. Hence, his repeating the phrase - “It’s cool man.” However, for some reason he didn’t feel it was an appropriate time, or perhaps, didn’t know what to ask about his real intentions.

I agree with what everyone else is saying. Seems like he's mad that you're doing it for free. He's probably tried several times to charge that neighbor for doing it and failed. Now someone comes along with a heart and does it for free and so he's feeling a bit jealous. I'm sure it was salt in the wound when he saw how many subscribers you have too lol Oh well. It seemed disbelief and envy like he might not be getting the work he needs to make enough money. Also possible he works for someone and doesn't like it so maybe looking to shift employment to work for you. He may have quoted the job and the owner didn't respond to the price. The last thing I can think of is maybe looking to get into the niche of giving free service to make money on media sites.

I’ll give the benefit of being a good neighbor except for the fact he said he’s been doing landscaping for 11 yrs. So why hasn’t he help his neighbor out??!! Just a thought!!

It’s so nice to see someone using a grass collector to leave the yard clean. Too many just mulch it up and leave the dead grass on the lawn. Great job it looks awesome!

Another nosy neighbor DRAMA! I wouldn't even accommodate or waste my time with him period. If your intention is legit let him figure it out by showing him what you can do. Sorry, just me. I do not really care for nosy people, especially when they are asking too many questions and I'm just trying to do my work. Neighborly suggestion. He should have helped the neighbor out and maybe she might hire him to take care of her lawn.

Used to be, neighbors mostly cared about each other, knew each other, helped others… taught their kids to do the same! Now humanity seems so self centered they don’t even know their neighbors, much less speak with or help them… sad but, thank you for your kindness & compassion!

I love that you apologized for the dog barking when my grandkids and I love when dogs bark on your videos. With your video sped up the barking doesn't sound like barking. My grandkids call it, "Chicken Dog" as it sounds like chickens. Love your videos and all your content.
