Even the flip side of I Am I Said, which was called Done Too Soon, is intriguing since I believe it predated other, more familiar "rapid litany" (I made that up) songs like Life Is A Rock, We Didn't Start The Fire, and It's The End Of The World (As We Know It).

The stories about how Diamond was inspired to write the song are apocryphal. "Crackling Rosé" is the name of an inexpensive sparkling wine once produced by Andres Wines of British Columbia, Canada, which was popular among the indigent population. One story suggests that Diamond heard a story about a native Canadian tribe while doing an interview in Toronto, Canada-the tribe had more men than women, so the lonely men of the tribe would sit around the fire and drink their wine together-which inspired him to write the song.

His album of the same name won the Grammy for best album of the year. There is a ton of music this man has written and perform, and many famous recording artist have covered over the years. Even the the King of Rock Elvis covered one of his songs titled "And The Grass Won't Pay No Mind." Elvis turned that into a big hit. Reactions like this, to music that we love is what's so appealing about reaction videos. We get to listen and watch you experience something for the first time, which in turn brings back the newness for your subs. That's a win-win. Love Neil Diamond. Enjoy your ride exploring more songs of his. (Soolaiman/ Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show, Hot August Night, Holly, Holy...)

Listen to his song “Hell Yeah”.....it’s an extension of “I Am...I Said”......watch the video of when he does it live at Madison Square Garden to end his show.....flat out brilliant.

I can never hear this song without thinking of the wine. Once in a great while my parents would buy it for special occasions back in the '60's. I can still see the bottle. It was more oval shaped than a standard wine bottle and was made with little glass bumps on it to simulate the bubbles.
