This particular time (1980) was a most memorable time for me and the awakening of an extraordinarily talented and gifted entertainer who went beyond writing and singing to producing and acting in my favorite feel good movie, 'The Jazz Singer'. The writer of 'Hey Louise' was a popular French singer, Gilbert Becaud (10/24/27-12/18/2001), thus having french references in the lyrics, such as 'mon cherie'. Becaud was probably most known for a song in 1962, 'Et maintenant' or 'What Now My Love', sung by Elvis. Another interesting song by Becaud in 1978, 'C'est en Septembre' and rewritten with Neil Diamond in 1980 was 'September Morn'. Many thanks to Doug Vyner, Webmaster, for the memorable photos from Neil's performance in that special sparkling blue 'Jazz Singer' shirt that we all love. 💎💎💎

In addition to the French references in the song, I felt compelled to once again include the images of French beauty Sophie Marceau, bearing in mind that I had done so only a couple of two months previously in my video 'Delirious Love'. My apologies for this brief response as we learned just hours previously of the unexpected passing of my elder brother, Quintin (the fifth born) who lived overseas. The saddest part being that he died alone. His family live in Perth. As a consequence of COVID-19, his family aren't able to travel to the funeral. Fortunately he has his in-laws over there. Neil's 'Morningside' has been running through my mind all day...
