I am a metal head and a punk rocker, and I love Neil Diamond. He has greatness in every aspect of his career. Song writing, singing, performing… everything is great. I especially love it when an artist has written more famous songs than what he or she has recorded. There are so many songs recorded by other artists where you can say “Neil Diamond wrote it!”

I recall watching this ‘I’m Glad You’re Here With Me Tonight’ t.v. special in the late 70’s - my first ever glimpse of some of the footage of that magnificent-in-every-way … event - that was ‘Woburn Abbey’ on July 2nd 1977 . About 14 rows from the front, stage left. About 75,000 others there on that perfect English summer day - and evening!z A 550-mile round-trip for me as a 16 year young ‘un. An eight-hour bus down , an especially cold night on a bus shelter bench in Woburn village … and then a 10hour hitch-hike back; home by 6 the next day. P e r h a p s - just perhaps the most significant weekend of my life .

I was a "Tree People" during the first night of his "Hot Summer Night" concert in 1972.At the Greek Theater in Hollywood. It was awesome.I was one of the boulevard kids and we never really had much money. lol. We were mostly runaways who more or less lived on Hollywood Blvd. Sooo,..we climbed a tree who's branches hung over into the inside of the Greek.No one tried to make us get down either,and Neil called out to us too!
