I saw an interview he did and he’s not dealing with his illness well. I can’t blame him, as a retired nurse, Parkinson’s is really a tough disease. I think it’s especially tough for someone like Neil who was so vibrant, driven and full of energy. My heart goes out to him. He admitted to being a “high maintenance husband”. His wife is much younger, I imagine he’s been hard on her, taking out his anger and frustration out on her. He was somewhat angry during the interview. I pray for his comfort and for hers. I think it’s especially more difficult for men to lose their independence in such a way, more so than women. Anyway, he needs prayers, please send them his way. I treasure his music and feel lucky to have lived during a time to have experienced his wonderful talent. May God Bless him.

Sadly, Neil Diamond can no longer perform publicly due to his illness. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease a few years ago. But he has left us with so many great songs. I believe he is still writing music at 82 years of age. I am 76 years old and Neil Diamond is my favorite singer by far.

I heard this song for the first time at his consort at The Forum in Los Angeles on Aug. 12th 2017 and just loved it. It was the best consort ever and he still dose have it. Love ND since I was a kid and have seen him numerous times live all over the USA. There are some notes he just can't sing, but what lyrics and music. He is a master artist! I don't know if he still lives in Malibu, but many years ago my ex-girlfriend told me that he was in line to watch a movie with the "ordinary" crowd in Westwood, Ca.

I was fortunate to see Neil in Texas in 1984 and it was such a memorable event. I remember I snuck my 35 mm camera in pieces in my girlfriend's purse to get some shots.....cameras were not allowed. Then snuck in the front seat section and got some fantastic shots of Neil, or so I thought, until I got home. Realized I had a setting off on the camera and none of the shots came out. Thank God for memories! That's all that really counts anyway when you see such a dynamic and talented song writer and singer. We owe these musicians so much, as they contribute priceless joy and life to our otherwise mundane lives. God Bless you Neil Diamond.
