So almost four years after The Last of Us 2 and its ending we got some confirmation that The Last of Us Part 3 is coming from Naughty Dog as Neil Druckmann creator of The Last of Us confirmed in the Grounded II Documentary that there’s one more chapter to the story of The Last of Us which will be The Last of Us Part 3! "The Last of Us 3" will likely have the return of Abby and Ellie. The Last of Us 2 ending clearly to me sets up The Last of Us Part III the sequel. Could we see a NEW Playable Character in a new Last of Us Game? Remember The Last of Us 2 director Neil Druckman has talked about its potential and that there is a plot written for The Last of Us 3. He doesn't yet have a story planned out for a sequel, but he does "have a concept" for another game that will be its own thing, but will also "act like a through-line for all three". That's literally what the first game was about, not the story, the characters. And now making a 3rd game about a completely different character who maybe has 7h of screen time across both games seems like an L to me. If it was a spin-off game or a DLC then I would be hyped, but I doubt we will ever see a Part IV.

It seems like Tommy was gonna get a DLC but was probably shelved/put aside for the multiplayer game that they recently cancelled. So I’m sure that stings and annoys the people at Naughty Dog who had a story but never got to see it though. And that’s a shame cause there’s so much untapped story with Tommy. My guess would be his journey through Seattle (the torture scene that Ellie and Dina walked into, and the sniper section with Abby, and they’d fill in the blanks from there.) Probably only giving snippets for each day instead of full days like Ellie and Abby. And if we’re gonna base this off of Ellie’s DLC in part 1, there would be flashback sections too, my guess would probably be starting up Jackson and building that community. The only reason I don’t want flashbacks to Joel and Tommy days pre TLOU1 is because that’s large enough to be given its own game to be honest, too big of a story for a DLC

I got this feeling Neil has been cooking up this 'concept' for some time, waiting for Grounded II to officially reveal it. Considering the shared graphics and gameplay between TLOU Part I and Part II, it's likely Part III will follow suit. With less groundwork needed, I'm guessing we'll see a trailer around 2025, and we might expect a late 2026/27 release🎉🎉

I heard that they did this documentary in April 2023, this was a while ago for Grounded 2. The game is probably past early phase and could get a teaser trailer soon. Don't see the game ending in 3 parts. Uncharted had 4 parts from Naughty Dog. I see TLOU getting 4 parts thanks to the HBO Show.

The atmosphere in these games is something I cannot find anywhere else. The level of storytelling and world building is incredible. The character development from part one to part two with Ellie is something I loved being a part of and I’ll be super sad to see it end but I’m super excited for the next and final chapter. I would always be down for other games within this universe, like for instance, being on the side of the fireflies when they formed and everything went down, would be something pretty cool to see

Although Part 2 was heartbreaking, it had a Driver: Parallel Lines taste to it where you got betrayed half-way and you kill everybody except the main guy who ends up killing your best friend near the end, also at the end TK doesn't end up killing the boss even though he's angry.

I'd always felt that way too, that if the last shot of Part 2 was the end of the series, it works. Because it's not about a cure anymore, it's about reconciling with the world, the people around you, and yourself. So if that was the last time I ever saw Elllie...walking away from the house to do...whatever (find the Fireflies? Find Dina?) all I could say was "Good luck." At least Abby and Lev are safe.

I have a feeling it’s going to be something on par with how dramatically different last of us two was from one Kind of like trying to subvert our expectations. Maybe it’ll be far far into the future and Ellie is a very elderly lady. Maybe we’ll play as mid 40s JJ and something like dealing with one’s own finality m, cycle of life and death or something like that. Either way. It doesn't sound like there's a Part III. Just Naughty Dog putting some ideas together for a possible sequel but nothing in the pipeline. There's a bunch of remakes planned at the studio and a new IP but in terms of The Last of Us I think the team are focused on the TV series and seeing where that leads before doing anything with the video game series.

Second game: Ellie dealing with the fact that that "something huge" was taken away from her. I honestly think the should make the next one a spin off or following a whole new cast in the same universe that had connection to people we know kinda how Life is Strange does it. Part 1 and Part 2 are very well told stories that go well back to back. Same for the covers or custom steelbooks i love the ps5 artwork of Ellie with Joel or Ellie with Abby Its bittersweet but feel like a proper 2 part story. They been on last of us for a decade now. Im glad we have part 2 remaster but honestly i think they should just focus on the tv series or a spin off

The Last of Us Series should most definitely be a trilogy. The first game was from Joel's perspective w/ Ellie's background too, the 2nd game was Ellie and Abby's, and I think Part 3 should most definitely have Tommy be the protagonist and give us flashbacks of the 20 years between Sarah's death and where TLOU part 1 begins. Part 3 can also follow up on what the Fireflies' new plan is and whether or not we'll get any closure regarding a vaccine or cure being made. They can also make the "villain" playable too.

My idea for the studio they can do Last Of Us 3 maybe cover it from a Tommy perspective. They can do a prequel to the first Last Of Us game that covers the 20 years we didn’t get to see and the game could focus on Tommy as a firefly and Joel and Tess as smugglers and since Ellie was born in that time as well good opportunity to tie in the show with Ana and Marlene. They could also do a Lost Legacy 2 this time a full game of it. Those are my ideas that I think would appease fans nicely.

Given Tommy's current condition, I think Tommy will only be playable in a DLC prequel about his days after the Outbreak. Ellie is sort of the protagonist of the franchise. Her role is usually always the most important even in Part 1. We could see a teenage JJ with an older Ellie.

I swear, for the 3rd one. They have to make it where you play as Tommy through the whole story. He actually finds Abby again and ends her but he doesn’t feel any better about it. But with that, all the wolves will be after him. And for dlc wise, I’d say a pov of him going to Seattle yk?

tnx bro❤❤❤its easier to make 3 part including abby ellie as allias and rattlers as main enemy coz last of us 2 part is about seraphite or scars and revenge of ellie from abby but later on they realise that nothing can we get from revenge although the creators didnt show much about rattlers so if neil druckkman sir notice that he may get ideas.this is my concept of theory😅😅😅
