I've always thought his work seemed a bit creepy, but due to popularity I had a couple of his books on my to-read list on Goodreads. I went to remove them a bit ago, and it won't let me, stating something about recent suspicious activity with reviews. I looked at the recent 1-star reviews of a few of his most-read books, and there have only been a few for each since the article released. It seems like Goodreads has flagged all of his work as unreviewable, like they're trying to protect it from review-bombing, but I should at least be able to remove them from my shelves.

My position on this, as was the case with Harvey Weinstein and others, is that you're innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The prima facie evidence certainly does not look good for him (multiple women independently claiming the same thing) but at the same time there are inconsistencies in some of the accusations (why would you message someone afterwards saying "I hunger for you" if it's not consensual?). Hopefully the truth will come out and justice will prevail but I'm not jumping to any conclusions.

They wanted a mysterious, edgy genius that writes dark gothic fiction. He unfortunately... knew exactly, what his 'very particular' audience wanted or craved. Except those that wanted much more of him, than he was willing to give. So they now attack him for not fulfilling any of their internalised fantasies. When certain men, in bands, entertainers or even writers are adulated, for decades by such ardent and admiring fans. It will become a repetitive, exploitative habit... to become accustomed to their sycophantic adulation.
