The amount of bad behavior a company will tolerate is directly proportional to how much money you make them. If you stop making money, you need to stop your behavior. Jonathan Majors learned that lesson recently.
@easter_sunday
@easter_sunday 12 күн бұрын
The problem is that no one is getting their days in court before this happens. Some random woman you don't even know could accuse you of something that happened decades ago, and destroy your life as consequence. And it would take you (or any man) years and a fortune in legal expenses just to legally clear your name. But that doesn't salvage a man's reputation.

@Slitheringpeanut That's not true. The year before the taxi incident, Majors beat the woman and sent her to a hospital. And the girl in this case was a Disney employee. This information was kept from the jury in Major's trial, but Disney knew about it which is why they fired him so quickly.

Even if you accept Gaiman's version of what happened, and I'm not saying you should, it sounds to me like he took advantage of employees who were going through a tough time. I know this is a conservative channel and many of you might have a "they should have just quite" attitude towards their situations, but one woman was just divorced and had three kids to support and the nanny came from an abusive situation with her family and neither were in a good position in their lives. It's not easy, being in situations like that, with a lot of uncertainty. At the very least, Gaiman wasn't following the principles that he was preaching. As an outspoken feminist, he should know that sex with someone he has power over, like an employee who's forty years younger, is not right.

100%. A lot of the commentary on this is laced with glee as it at least outs “the woke male feminist “ as a massive hypocrite at the very least. I’m inclined to believe the allegations… especially as hush money was paid. But none of this has been proven. Ultimately, it appears that he’s a narcissistic POS pervert and very likely abuser. But I’m beginning to find the bandwagoning a little distasteful. Of course these sites will cover the news, but a lot of them are just as vicious as the wokosos. Conservatives want him cancelled ( which is ironic) . He absolutely should be , but though the denials will be vehement , many commentators are loving this situation because Gaiman is such a strident woke male feminist prick. It’s about sticking the knife into the SJWs ( who deserve it… royally), but let’s not clutch pearls and pretend that this is all about his alleged victims It’s revenge for years of shit and abuse from “the other side “

Absolutely disgusting that the publishers have protected him for so long. Apparently there were far too many enablers around this sick guy & his ex wife, Palmer, knew full well what kind of depraved person he was yet supplied him with young, vulnerable girls who were already struggling mentally & had been abused at a young age which made them even more vulnerable & easily manipulated. Palmer seems to be a willing participant in his sadism & unable to even protect their own son from his abuse. These corporations must stop the practice of protecting men who are predators. Gaiman deserves all the karma. Praying for his victims & his child. What a nightmare for them.

I have little doubt he IS guilty of at least some of the things he was accused of. I can't say for sure because I was not there and there has not been any official legal action taken (thought there likely never will be any official legal action taken either so there is that) where there are 9 smokes there really has to be at least one fire. The only issue I have with any of this is that there is still Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but since he has paid hush money and made legal threats against Tortoise media companies, I would say he has gone a long way to proving himself pretty guilty. I don't really enjoy the court of public opinion but there comes a point where one's acts become so reprehensible and so disgusting that there has to be some action taken and I think Neil is simply reaping what he has sown for a very long time.

Even though whether or not what he did was a CRIME can be disputed, he had already admitted to lots of absolutely abominable sexual behaviors, (especially with the nanny), that were at the very least a CLEAR misuse of his power and position, and really hecking gross and despicable. Which, even if that's all there is to this, which I do not believe for one second, the stuff he has ADMITTED to is still gross and grapey I know that I don't ever want to support him again, and I don't give a frick if he's cancelled for it. Plus sure. One woman with a grudge, and perhaps a severe personality disorder, can occasionally lie, even about these things. However, when there is a clear pattern, of multiple women that did NOT know each other reporting similar patterns of behavior, independently, and we also have Amanda Palmer having witnessed what he did to the nanny, even if she's so far refused to talk to police about it..? (Which I am very disappointed in her for. But there is still other evidence, and she even wrote about it in a song! Plus the last episode of the Tortoise podcast featured a secretly RECORDED online conversation between Neil and one of his victims, in which he said insanely gross and creepy things.) It's just gotten to the point of: he doesn't need a "guilty" verdict in a trial to deserve to be cancelled. I've seen and heard MORE than enough stuff that is completely unforgivable, already! And as anti woke as I am, I still think he COMPLETELY deserves it! This is not just a case of, he's got controversial, non PC opinions. This is a man who has SEVERELY violated many women's boundaries, (be it classified as grape by the courts or not), ab using his own power and fame to do so, while clearly failing to see them as humans, WHATSOEVER! And it is very unlike, for instance, the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard case, in which it was literally the words of one woman against the words of one man. So.. that. He can cry me a river.

See, normally I would be sceptical of these accounts and would encourage the tried and true expression, "innocent until proven guilty." But Neil Gaiman once said that he believes women no matter what, and that men shouldn't close their eyes to what happens to women in this world, and that we must fight alongside them for them to be believed, to change this world for the better. Thereby ignoring the numerous men who've had their lives ruined by false accusations levelled against them by women, in a world that would rather believe women without question. Now that we know his true nature is revealed, he can eat those words and face the consequences of his actions.

Well sort of both. He is a perve, the master podcast shows his texts, emails, even voice mails and those of his women, but they lapped it up, claimed to be uncomfortable then wrote him love letters saying they wanted more, not even kidding. Yet they aren't being held accountable for that is no safe way to act ladies and you kept returning and not telling him you did not like it, because sometimes you even said you did to the master people doing the pod cast, yet somehow now he's a bad guy? It's all nutters. I dislike that women are literally being encouraged to be this. But yeah he is nasty, and it isn't illegal if he's nasty with of age concenting which he thought he was. I think when they approached him saying they wanted money for therapy and all and he was shocked he just did it out of his stupid beliefof believe all women and did not expect them to turn on him. Said so on pod in recordings from him to them basically. Bella L

I’ve always found Neal’s stories repetitive beyond his world building. If you look past names it’s all the same male protagonist. A middle management fool who stumbles his way around the story surrounded by much more interesting characters. And his main female support role is the same, always out of the hero’s league and capable, but charmed by the mediocrity of his male lead. The exceptions to this are Fat Charlie, who is almost the same character but more fleshed out due to the duality of his nature which leads me to believe he had help with this novel. It’s so incredibly repetitive that I know for a fact Pratchett wrote almost everything in Good Omens except Anathema Device and Newton Pulsifer. They’re Neal’s boring male/female characters from every book he writes, there to drag Pratchett’s regular brilliant humor down with another repetitious woman dragging along male mediocrity to his heroic end. So many better characters to read about, why waste more time with Neal’s crappy self insert male characters, vomited all over his book pages. He’s been telling us he’s mediocre, and the women in his life do all the heaving lifting for him for years at this point. Read Pratchett instead, he’s more than worth it.
