Just look at that marquee from the Fillmore in 1970! For six or seven bucks an evening, you could watch more all time great musical acts in a month, in a single venue, than you can in a decade now, spending thousands of dollars chasing acts at venues around the country.

@@benzuckerman Ben, I'm thoroughly confused -- perhaps because you are. NAVAJO is not my band. But I am intrigued by YOUR story. Firstly, I would die to go to Vienna. I have always wanted to go, and I have a book to recommend to you: 'Fin de Siècle Vienna' by Carl Schorske. Also, are you a Packers fan? I'm from Chicago, and I have a childhood memory of driving to Milwaukee with my father to watch the 1963 Bears-Packers game in a living room full of Packers fans in the days when NFL home games were routinely blacked out. Bears 26 Packers 10. Shalom, and enjoy Vienna. Read that book!

Some people ask, "did you have a wife?" I answer, "No, I had dozens. I had one here, and one there, wherever I could find one." Recently, I heard this song, for the first time, and understand what this really means. It is all about a long slow progression, without much social life. You find some along the way, in odd places, and get together with that woman. But, those situations never seem to be permanent ones. So, you keep progressing along.

One hope ever after all these decades just how much the Fillmore was to me like the salavation army, got leads everyday I was there, for a period of just pass the the april rude denuded me and bounced me to the curb..Creedmore was not a nice play, I was on the strret for almost 6 weeks befor someone took a chance on a kid at 16 going on 21..everyscrap quater plus became my addiction, I needed theraphy and Bill's house was that and so much more for a kid like me...Lost in space, alone and fxxxxxxxxer bad in the head and what they did to me, so getting medicine form the street I swallow whatever was put into my mouth by people trying to help me...Yeah it was intense and close to the concrete and ashapht and cobblestones on still some streets in Manhatten..I walk many nights all night long, didnit want the high, the company of other screaming kids there, here like I said befor, twice I managed to sleep upstairs, way up top , near the roof, many times looking up what will I find there., sleep comes fast went you walk al night, feel afraid tonite best just to keep it moving....nypd shone light on me a few times, walk away...can't talk to a cop, are you fxxxing kidding...No not now, maybe later Yes, later got a brother who a cop in the air force....time to sleep
