Harvest is a personal album to me as I was going through a transition in my life and it helped tremendously and still listen to it as a milestone in my life...

My favorite over Harvest. And I love Harvest. But After The Gold Rush is more personal to me.

Saw Neil's Harvest tour in 1972. Amazing concert. Some up-and-comer named Linda Ronstadt was the opening act. 2022 is the 50th anniversary of this classic album.

I was amazed and transfixed by the early 1970's film footage of the making of the Harvest album, in the just released (Dec 2022) Harvest Time movie. A must see for Neil Young fans.

Within my friends group, we reference Neil Young by shouting, “more barn!” I believe I learned about this story in his autobiography. I love how he believes that the true spirit of the song is in the first take! more than that, and the song becomes distilled and sterile.

In the double album Journey Through the Past there is the studio session where Stills and Crosby were recording their parts on Alabama (and the photo of that session in the inside cover)

a couple of Harvest tracks were recorded just about a half mile from where i am sitting in the most unlikely of places, Barking in East London in a annexe of Barking Town Hall famed for it's acoustics & beloved of the likes of Bernard Hermann

Available in DVD Audio 5.1. Hard to find, but worth it if you have the equipment to hear it in 5.1.

What happened to Neil?... umm... age is what happened. We're lucky to still have him after a lifetime of health issues and a brain aneurysm. Age can defy appearance... your soul, heart and demeanor is forever.
