One man, a piano, and a harmonica. It doesn't get any better than that. Beautiful.

there are voices that are beautiful, voices that are haunting, that are rare, that are unmistakable, surprising. And then there is a voice that can go up and down your spine in a particular way all its own as Neil Young's voice can.

This song will NEVER get old! He was the first artist I discovered! 🎶 I grew up watching PBS. Early 80s. I eventually got it on my cassette walkman! 😁 ❤🎶

He was in such pain for so many years in his back. Never complained a word. You can see it in some of the old footage, just how he holds his back so tight. He's my dad. My mum was Joni Mitchell. Seriously!! Neither of them remember that night.

There's an indy artist in Connecticut I just discovered that's doing a new Neil Young solo tribute show and it's absolutely amazing how much he sounds like Neil, even on his own original music. I've never heard anyone whose voice is this close to Neil's. Here's his cover of "After the Gold Rush" from the full show performance ("The Loner: The Music of Neil Young") at a small club in Bridgeport, CT recently. See what you think. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWqpdXqEaJyqpLM

The song was originally written for a movie (After the Goldrush) that was never made.

I had heard that he named it after a manuscript that was cowritten by one of his buddies, actor Dean Stockwell. Maybe there was that movie connection, too.
@ag3582 жыл бұрын
@@mnmcookie76 yes, he wrote it for a manuscript that wasn't made into a movie. Dean Stockwell was trying to sell it to a movie studio, unfortunately, no takers.
