Leiland Sklar has probably been through that limiter! 😎 That Blackie strat was an image I used to stare at as a kid. My first strat as a kid was black like that, though a hell of a lot cheaper. 😁 Steve Albini.. ahh man that guy. Such a loss to music.

Dope show & tell Manny, thank you! Analogr is such a vibey gear museum. Have you tried the vintage Unidyne III 545/546? (SM57 predecessor) I've never used the Unidyne SM56/57 you talked about however I have a handful of the vintage (60s/70s) Unidyne 545's, I dig them over the modern production SM57's. I have not tried the new iteration of the 545. Vintage 545's are still affordable at $80-150. Apparently Bruce Robb founder of Cherokee Studios loves the vintage original 545's.

Al Schmidt had a rack of Summit TLA100A. I don't know if they were his personal ones or if they were rented, but I saw him talking about them somewhere & raving about them.

I've not used them myself but I've heard a few guys say the Summit TLA-50 is a useful tool, for much less the expenditure of a TLA-100.
