Written for his wife Pegi with the legendary Ben Keith playing steel guitar and Linda Ronstadt on backing vocals.

Ben was one of the best. Died on Neil's ranch while visiting years ago RIP. Ben is a legend who's career was longer than Neil's. Neil was very lucky to have him on his records.

From the 1992 album, "Harvest Moon" this is a wonderful tune rumored to be about his first Peggy who worked as a waitress when they met. Linda Ronstadt sings beautiful backing vocals, great relatable lyrics, folksy guitar riffs and melody, and Neil's recognizable vocals and harmonica, just for Harri, make this a winner. Not released as a single, this tune made it to Number 38, on the Billboard Mainstream rock tracks. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked this Neil's 4th best post 70's song. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Bushy. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Great Canadian songwriters among the very best in the entire world: Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. PS: Neil sings and writes country as good as he sings rock.

Neil's voice is so good live. Especially in an enclosed theatre. He can sing so soft and then so loud. He really is a great singer. I love when Neil goes more Country which is many of his songs. Great song.

That steel slide guitar was everything to this song imo. Just the cherry on top of Neil, backup singers, and the harmonica. Loved that haunting echo effect.

Neil is superb, he is like the grass roots of music across Canada and the USA. I met him when I was 15 in 1968.

I had a beautiful co worker at the time this came out. We were both married for what that’s worth but I gave her the cd and she kept it for this song mostly. She used to ride. And I used to imagine riding with her lol…

Great song from a great album. I don’t think there’s a track on that album I don’t like. But that goes for most of Neil’s catalog.

So good you're into Neil Young. Don't know if you've discovered REM yet but check out REM and Neil Young Country Feedback 10 18 98 Shoreline. They played together at the Bridge School Benefit Concert, a charity set up by his late ex-wife Pegi. It's mesmerising!

love this song, heard it so many times, did not know til know Linda Ronstatd was singing back up! Harri talking about Linda. Have you heard yet Hanging on a Limb from his Freedom album? Guess who sings duet with him?. Yes! Linda Ronstatd! And yes for me, its more of a duet with Linda singing rather than singing backup up in that song. Check it out. I really feel you'll thoroughly enjoy it.

Thank you, HarriBest, for being so open as to listen and appreciate all genres of music. Neil Young's voice (to me) is rather shrill, but despite this, I love it because it is so absolutely 'haunting'. That's the best word I can use to describe it. And the pictures and emotions he paints with his lyrics - makes me think of another Canadian songwriter/singer, the (late) great Gordon Lightfoot. Thank you for your appreciation and analysis!

You might try listening to "Love Is A Rose" by Neil. Can't get more country than that. Linda Ronstadt did a fine cover of that, too. Both worthy of a listen. Thanks Harri, love your videos. 😊
